company and our partner brands – Faber and ILVE – forwards in the UK. I will continue to ensure that we work closely with our retailers, increasing the range we are able to offer them and maintaining the KitchenEX values of offering high quality appliances and exemplary service. We have big plans for both brands and look forward to communicating this to our partners and the wider UK KBB market.

Q: What does the KitchenEx proposition

offer independent

retailers that other brands don’t? A: KitchenEx is a family business and continues to be led by the same family today, with every member that joins our team becoming an extension of those values. The company is

Q & A

Q: Congratulations to you and the KitchenEx team on reaching your 10th anniversary. That’s quite a milestone, can you explain the brand’s journey? A: We can’t believe it’s been 10 years already since the launch of KitchenEx. We are very proud of what we’ve achieved so far. When my parents – Jason and Vicky Harris – started the business in 2012, off the back of a great relationship they had with Faber, I don’t think either of them envisaged being where we are today. We quickly added the ILVE brand to the portfolio and the business has just gone from strength to strength since. Ten years down the line we have

grown rapidly – we now supply almost 1,000 retailers in the UK – and see ourselves as less of a distributor and more of an ambassador for our premium partner brands, Faber and ILVE. Both of which are built on innovation and still have so much potential to grow in the UK.

Q: In today’s competitive and challenging market what do you put your success down to? A: Faber is the inventor of the domestic extractor and it continues to operate as one of the leading manufacturers in the extraction market, continually developing new styles and technologies to meet the needs of the changing consumer. Range cooker specialist ILVE, has one of the most technologically advanced portfolios on the market. In the past few years especially, it has developed its range cookers to

include technologies that are usually associated with built-in appliances, giving us multiple unique points to offer our retailers.

As a supplier to the trade, we understand that customer service is king. We pride ourselves on being experts in our products, which is why we purposely only work with a small number of brands – those that we have a real synergy with.

Q: How are you marking KitchenEx’s anniversary? A: We have revamped the showroom at our HQ in Sheffield which is a fantastic way to mark this milestone

and, at the same time, show our long-term commitment to our brands and retail partners. The redesigned showroom allows us to showcase the growing range of ILVE and Faber products in an inspirational setting. We are not only able to host retailers but encourage them to visit the showroom with their customers to show them the full potential of the KitchenEx portfolio. This is also a great opportunity for the KitchenEx founders to hand over the reins to the next generation of the Harris family. Together with the support of my incredible team, I am now responsible for driving the

relationships with our network of retailers and the consumers they serve - they are at the heart of our operation. We want our retailers to know that by partnering with KitchenEx, they are working with a company that understands the importance of the customer and that the relationship with our retailers is what makes us strong together.

Q: How has KitchenEx navigated the challenges of the past few years? A: Through careful planning we’ve been able to hold a large number of Faber products in stock over the past few years and we currently hold a minimum of three-months stock in the UK at any point. This has allowed us to facilitate orders from our existing customers and also assist new retailers who have come to us because they have faced supply challenges elsewhere. ILVE has done a phenomenal job maintaining good lead times. We have also been able to hold a number of fast moving ILVE models in stock, and are able to deliver products within a week. Due to the nature of the ILVE offering, most orders are customised and, therefore, built to order, but we are still able to offer products within an eight- sixteen-week lead time.

Our showroom displays the very best appliances from our Italian partners ILVE and Faber. Showroom visits are by appointment only and can be easily arranged by calling the office on 0114 399 8672. To find out more about KitchenEx and
