system in their test bed. Te process to get to this point, was as simple as could be. We sent them two of our SMIBs and they connected them to our Cloud. It’s that straightforward. It’s no longer a case of shipping the hardware you’ll need, adding specific types of servers, and then having us come and load that software. When our customers go live, we’ll be on location, but to set-up and get a few machines up and running, it’s all plug-n-play.

You’re talking to different companies and operators around the world right now, so what are your expectations, what does the future hold and how quickly is this going to happen?

Our only guarantee of your continued business is the value and service we provide!

DERAILING THE TRAINING Te next barrier typically involves retraining

staff. Slots and tables are relatively easy, they’re mostly handled in the same way, but the hardest typically, to change is the cash desk. Te reason behind this was the inflexible nature of the legacy software where you have to adopt your processes to the software and not the other way around. Our service orientated architecture allows us to adapt to your operations rather than the other way round. So with cash desks for example, we can mirror the structure you already have in place. Tis not only saves time and money when changing the system, but removes the big re-training headache. Once you’ve removed the cost and you’ve removed the retraining, all you pretty much have left is installation.

I’d say that’s the third reason. No one wants to ‘re-do’ their whole floor, and while everybody now has a wired floor, typically there’s only one wire. If you have an existing system, installing a secondary system alongside it becomes a problem because, if I want to get it up and

running, test it and get it approved, you’re going to need to run a second set of cables.

...Or you can just use wireless. We can install wirelessly alongside an existing system, satisfy all regulatory requirements and on the day of transfer have everything up and running without any disruption to service. On a 500- machine floor, you will be done in a couple of hours.

How has Certus grown its infrastructure to install, service and sell this type of solution?

One of the reasons why, earlier in the year, we hired George Paterakis as VP, Customer Support, was to enable us to recruit the right people for our support team. He brings over 20 years of operator and supplier experience across many jurisdictions.

Having said that, the great thing about using new technology is that everything’s easier to develop and easier to install. Tere’s very little need for us to be onsite.

One of the large gaming operators that we are currently engaging with, is currently testing the

I think you’ll see us go live with a top tier customer if not in the next six months, then certainly in the next 12 months.

We are very focused on not just signing up any additional business but trying to find strategic partners. Having a system that brings this amount of innovation means we have to be focused on proving ourselves in every gaming segment. From traditional casinos, to slot halls, to video lottery or awp markets. We need operators that can help us address the needs of each of these segments and showcase the difference the partnership of technology and operational experience can bring.

I think as far as expansion is concerned, we see no problem going from 2,000 slots to 100,000 in a relatively short space of time and because we’re Cloud-based it doesn’t require that many additional people on our side. For a traditional systems company that would probably be a seven-year plan and it would be hard, really hard.

Technology has forever changed how we interact with our customers, it’s time to for Te Connected Casino!
