PORTUGAL – According to a study released by the Portuguese General-Directorate for the Intervention on Addictive Behaviours and Dependencies (SICAD) almost half of the population living in Portugal take part in gaming with the highest prevalence among men (51 per cent) compared to women (45.2 per cent). However gaming amongst the younger demographic group is down considerably. The results of the study were presented in Lisbon during the IV National Consumer Survey of Psychoactive Substances Amongst the General Population, Portugal 2016/17. The prevalence of players is "somewhat lower” in the younger population (15-34 years) and stands at 42.8 per cent the study found. Overall, however, gaming amongst the younger demographic saw a drop of almost 20 per cent for the total population when compared to 2012.
FRANCE – BetConstruct has been granted a Remote Gaming Licence for its Sportsbook product by Arjel, the French online games regulator. Current owner Landing International Development officially put the VIP property on the market after owning it for just 18 months in order to concentrate on its investments in South Korea. Mr. Suen is one of the UK’s richest Chinese investors.
Landing bought Les Ambassadeurs Club for approximately £131m in April 2016. Te transaction will further enhance the company’s cash flow and allow it to focus its resources to develop Jeju Shinhwa World, the integrated leisure and entertainment resort in Jeju, Korea, while remaining in a good position to invest in any opportunities with good prospects of growth and profitability in other emerging markets in Southeast Asian regions.

Intralot enjoys major revenue swing of over 15 per cent

Greek gambling operator Intralot has reported that first half revenue increased by 15.1 per cent compared to the first half of 2016, leading to total revenues for the six month period ending in June 30, 2017, of €733.2m.
Intralot said that the main factors that drove top line performance in Europe, where revenues were up €39.9m were increased sales in Bulgaria (due to Eurobet’s consolidation after July 2016) and Poland, following the recent regulatory changes.
