Röchling Automotive opens factory in Spain


Germany’s Röchling Automotive has opened its second factory in Spain. Based at a 40,000 m2


site at


Teruel, in Aragon, eastern Spain, this will make high-tech plastic parts and components for the local automotive industry that its existing site at Álava in the Basque Country is no longer able to do. Production is running in a hall, with a 4,600

moulding machines, with clamping force of 2,700, 1,300 and 650 tonnes. Four additional machines were due to be purchased in September. Wheel arch liners, deflectors and design


covers are already being produced at the plant for Ford and cowl grilles will be added later this year. Active air shutter systems and SCR tanks are also planned for 2018. � www.roechling.com

Omnium divests


Plastic Omnium has announced a plan to sell its Environment division in order to focus exclu- sively on its automotive operations. The Environment division is one of Plastic Omnium’s original businesses and has sales of about €330m/year, 4% of the group total.
