FAKUMA 2017 | SHOW PREVIEW

advantages of lightness, design flexibility, single step processing, colour and corrosion resistance. The group offers functional solutions to thermal management with electrically and thermally conductive grades. It says it is possible to achieve for thermal conductivity up to 10 W/ m.K for electrically insulating materials and up to 20 W/m.K for electrically conductive materials. Eurotec’s thermal management product

portfolio is available in a wide range of polymers such as PA, PC, PBT, PP, PPS, PEEK, PPA, and flame retardant grades for electronic component, lighting applications, heat exchangers and other applications. www.eurotec-ep.com

Gabriel-Chemie will launch its Pure option for organoleptically tested masterbatches. Developed for applications that are highly susceptible to flavour tainting, such as bottled mineral water, Pure applies two industry-standard testing methods – gas chromatography and organoleptic evaluation – to incoming raw materials and outgoing master- batches. Customers receive a full set of documen- tation with transparent test data. Gabriel-Chemie’s in-house gas chromatography equipment is used to detect any NIAS (non-inten- tionally added substances) impurities that may lead to off-tastes. Where any unknown substances are detected, the company works with the external testing organisation Fraunhofer IVV to identify them and, if necessary, block their use. Instrument- ed testing is supported by blind flavour tainting tests carried out by a tasting panel. In addition, the company will show its latest laser

marking masterbatches, which allow marking of plastic parts with a metallic finish. This technology will be demonstrated at the show. It will also present its 18th

Grafe will display its full range of colour and additive masterbatches for engineering plastics applications, including PA, POM, PBT, PC, TPU and PMMA polymers, as well as for polyolefins. Among the most recent additions to the product line is the Black3

masterbatch, which has been specially

formulated to create a high gloss piano black finish in PE and PP. Applications are expected in cosmet- ics and premium packaging. Also pitched at cosmetics industry applications, Grafe’s MattAge matting agent allows surface gloss to be adjusted through simple additive additon. The company
