its temperature and UV stability, LSR is particularly interesting for LEDs. The particular flexibility and elasticity of LSR also open up innovative design concepts. www.ikv-aachen.dewww.ilt.fraunhofer.dewww.ipt.fraunhofer.de

Kistler has added new functionalities to ComoNeo, its process monitoring and control system, which optimise multi-component injection moulding and resin transfer moulding processes. Having been launched in 2015, ComoNeo’s

new Version 2.1 update enables the cavity pres- sure technology to evaluate up to four compo- nents with different mould technologies. The RTM process presents a different challenge: the curing process for the resins used can last for hours, depending on the material, the pressure and the temperature. To overcome this problem, Kistler is now offering special RTM sensors, which contributes with the ComoNeo software to quality assurance and process optimisation. To support its Industry 4.0 exper-

tise, Kistler has acquired MES company IOS of Germany. Its objective, says Kistler, “is to offer the plastics industry an end-to-end system solution (sensor to ERP) for quality monitoring and process optimisation from one single source. The ultimate goals: maximum cost-efficiency and transparency of production in the era of Industry 4.0.” www.kistler.com

Koch-Technik has completely reworked the design and technology of the KKT 100, its biggest mobile dry-air dryer. The new design is slim and also

makes individual parts and filters even more accessible for maintenance work. Another key change is that regeneration heating was adopted from Koch’s CKT series dryers, which represents a significant increase in the efficiency of regeneration of the drying agent. The KKT 100 mobile dryer, which has two independent drying circuits, produces up to 100m³ of dry air for pellet drying per hour. Safe operation is ensured in the dryer by microfilters, overload protection, air check and temperature limiter. In order to achieve the desired residual moisture of the dried pellets, it is possible to create dry air with a dew point of -35 °C. The touch panel control newly developed for the entire KKT design series guides users through drying programs. The basic program performs drying to

the residual moisture necessary for processing. There is also a fast program and eco-program for energy-saving drying adapted to the current flow of pellets, saving up to 40% energy. www.koch-technik.com
