It also enables seamless integration and com-
munication with the production line. This facilitates automation upgrades, reducing manual interven- tion and raising production stability. By transmitting real-time measurement data to the PLC line control, it optimises process parameters, to raise produc- tion efficiency and product quality. Technical discussions during K2025 last year led to Bechton ordering a Centerwave 6000 for its PVC-O production line. After successful installation and commissioning, it is now fully operational – and helps to ensure the high quality of PVC-O pipes through its reliable measuring performance.
Pinpoint precision Pixargus says its new inline inspection system, ProfilControl 7 PlastX, offers “pinpoint measuring technology for standard applications in plastic extrusion”. The new design of measuring head uses mix of
materials that requires less hardware and is equipped with “no more software than necessary”.
“We have condensed the hardware and made the system more intelligent,” said Michael Frohn, sales manager of Pixargus. The flexibly scalable inspection system measures the dimensions of widths, distances, angles and radii – as well as combinations of these – and detects small deviations from the target contour. At the same time, the surface inspection function spots flaws such as scratches, bubbles and inclu- sions. A dedicated software module has been included specifically for the reliable detection of die grooves. The new sensor head design dispenses with a housing and a hinged cover, allowing operators to monitor the inspection process continually without having to open the sensor head separately – which saves time and simplifies handling. An open sensor plate with predefined hole
pattern allows cameras to be positioned in a flexible way – using the drilled holes to adjust the cameras for a specific inspection task.
