MELT FILTRATION | MACHINERY

enhances downstream equipment protection and ensures stable operation, while the ERF fine filter gives good pellet quality with minimal material loss. The filters offer a powerful combination for efficient, low-cost recycling solutions, says the company. Its new curved, continuous screen changer –

CSC-R-DV – with integrated start-up position offers up to 50% higher throughput and energy savings, while shortening the production line. Its compact design reduces investment costs and fits into temperature-sensitive extrusion processes. www.maag.com

Nordson BKG and Fimic have teamed up to develop systems that can process up to 6 tonnes/ hour of post-consumer plastics. The solutions address challenges including

material variability, filtration limitations and costly downtime. By integrating Nordson’s gear pumps, valves and pelletising systems with Fimic’s filtration units, the systems ensure consistent pressure, superior filtration and pellet homogeneity. To meet the demands of high-capacity polyole-

fin recycling, the companies have engineered a modular system architecture offering high flexibil-

ity. The solution is available in three distinct configurations: discontinuous operation (DO), continuous operation (CO) and continuous flexible operation (CFO) – each tailored to specific produc- tion environments, throughput goals and mainte- nance strategies. The DO-Line is a cost-effective solution requiring a complete line shutdown during screen changes on the Fimic melt filter; the CO-Line features dual diverter valves that allow screen changes on one filter while the other remains in operation; and the CFO-Line – the most advanced configuration – is equipped with two underwater pelletisers. Key features of the integrated system include: high performance, with a minimum throughput of 4 tonnes/hour with filtration precision down to 100-150 microns; thermal management, with design strategies such as mobile components and thermal elongation adaptors maintaining system stability under high-temperature conditions; and automation and efficiency, such as intelligent pump control, modular system design and minimal operator involvement. www.nordsonpolymerprocessing.com www.fimic.it
