It seems like there’s a party Every weekend! How do I keep from overindulging?
Here are a few tactics to keep in mind: 1. Eat before you go: Have a snack before you go like a yogurt and fruit smoothie, veggies and hummus, or fruit and nuts. Don’t show up hungry.
2. Bring a dish to share: Offer to bring a favorite healthy dish or two so you (and others) will have lighter options. Give the gift of nutritious food! 3. Eat your veggies first: Load half your plate with fiber-rich, low-cal veggies. Use the other half of your plate for lean protein and whole grains. Don’t forget, corn counts as a grain and not a veggie!
