3 WAYS TO BOIL AN EGG


HERBED DEVILED EGGS


Halve hard-boiled eggs and mash the yolks with a little mayo. Add a dash of mustard, vinegar, salt (in moderation) and pepper, chopped parsley and basil. Fill the egg whites and dust with paprika.


In the oven


A little unusual, but some people swear by this method. Fill the holes of a muffin pan with 12 eggs. Place in oven and set to 325°F. Bake 30 min. Cool in a bowl of ice water for 15 min. and then peel.


In a steamer


Place eggs in a steamer insert or basket over rapidly boiling water, lower heat and steam, covered, for 12 min. Cool in a bowl of ice water for 15 min. and then peel.


CLASSIC COBB SALAD


Spread sliced romaine lettuce on a serving platter. Top with cubed avocado, grated cheese, diced tomato, sliced hard-boiled eggs, crumbled bacon and strips of diced turkey. Serve dressing on the side.


Off the heat


This is a low-stress way to hard boil eggs. Add cold eggs to rapidly boiling water. Boil for 1 min. then cover, remove from heat and let sit 15 min. Cool in ice water.
