Live School Bus Crash Demonstration at CAPE Hosted by


Date: Friday, June 7, 2019 Time: 8:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Location: The Center for Advanced Product Evaluation (CAPE) Description: Hosted by SafeGuard/IMMI, attendees are transported from the JW Marriott to the Center for Advanced Product Evaluation, to experience a unique, live school bus crash demonstration and to participate in a debriefing session. Lunch will be provided onsite. (Maximum of 150 participants.)


National School Bus Inspection Training Program Instructors: Marshall Casey with Mike Bullman, Joe Scesny & Bobby Williams Date: Saturday, June 8, 2019 Time: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Location: JW Marriott Description: STN EXPO launches a program that was developed by school bus maintenance and inspec- tion expert Marshall Casey, to fully train technicians on how to conduct regular vehicle inspections, above and beyond state or federal Department of Transportation guidance. The program is derived from best practices Casey used in overseeing the maintenance of school buses in South Carolina, the only completely owned and operated state fleet in the nation. Attendees will learn how to discover more defects prior to failure, which al- lows for expedited repairs, increased vehicle uptime, and a more efficient maintenance program. The program includes eight hours of classroom instruction, as well as a written exam. *This program requires separate regis- tration and fees. (Maximum of 50 participants.)


NHTSA Child Passenger Safety Restraint Training Instructors: Sue Shutrump, Eric Smith, Kathy Anneken, Dave Murphy, Charlie Vits & Denise Donaldson Date: Saturday, June 8, 2019 Time: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Location: JW Marriott Description: This eight-hour training seminar is ap- proved by the National Highway Traffic Safety Adminis- tration. It teaches the proper securement of pre-school aged children in appropriate child safety restraint systems (CSRS) on school bus seats. It provides the basic rules of proper CSRS usage and illustrates the most common mistakes made when installing CSRS in school buses. Continuing education units (5.5 CEUs) are approved by Safe Kids Worldwide for all registered at- tendees who complete the course work. *This program requires separate registration and fees. Cummins Service Training School Presented by


Date: Sunday, June 9 and Monday, June 10 Time: 1 – 5:00 p.m. Location: JW Marriott Description: Exclusive to STN EXPO Indianapolis, Cum- mins Engine is providing attendees with two opportuni- ties to receive hands-on training that covers basic elec- tronic theory and troubleshooting, cooled EGR and air handling familiarization. It is also providing an overview of exhaust after-treatment (including dash lamps and switches) and additional product-specific information. The training includes an introduction on using INSITE engine diagnostics software, plus the QuickServe Online parts and service portal. All attendees who complete the training will receive certification from Cummins. (Maxi- mum of 25 participants per class.)


Wheelchair Securement Training Presented by


Date: Sunday, June 9, 2019 Time: 1 – 5:00 p.m. Location: JW Marriott Description: This interactive workshop is designed by Q’STRAINT/Sure-Lok as a comprehensive, advanced training on the best practices of securing passengers with special needs and their wheelchairs. Participants will master the essential principles that are needed for proper securement, receive ample supervised hands-on securement practice, and learn troubleshooting prac- tices for safely transporting difficult to secure mobility devices. This course is ideal for safety trainers, transpor- tation managers and drivers. Topics covered include: Safety and liability; securement equipment operation; securing the wheelchair; hands-on practice; diffi- cult-to-transport wheelchairs; and more. Participants will receive a certificate of completion for their records. (Maximum of 35 participants.)
