AKM Launches Power Management ICs
NOVI, MI — Asahi Kasei Micro - devices (AKM) has developed the AP4413, a new series of ultra- low current power management ICs (PMICs) ideal for battery charging systems used in energy harvesting applications. The AP4413 series enables
efficient battery charging while consuming an extremely low cur- rent of 52 nA and features four variants with voltage threshold characteristics matching several common rechargeable battery types. The AP4413 comes in a tiny HXQFN package and has been in mass production since
February of 2025. Equipped with AKM’s pro-
prietary ultra-low current volt- age monitoring system, the AP4413 series enables autono - mous charging of a small

rechargeable battery via energy harvesting, which is becoming increasingly common across a wide range of applications such as remote controls, Bluetooth trackers, and IoT sensors, which have traditionally used dispos- able batteries. This is particular- ly relevant in Europe, where the transition to rechargeable bat- teries is being promoted by Regulation (EU) 2023/1542 to evaluate the feasibility of phas-
ing out disposable batteries. Contact: Asahi Kasei

Systems PITTSBURGH, PA — Aerotech has released its DrillOptimizer, an advanced AeroScriptPlus fea- ture for galvo scanner systems. Designed for equipment manufac- turers using laser drilling with high-dynamic point-to-point mo - tion, DrillOptimizer tackles the complex challenge of optimizing step and settle motion for thou- sands to millions of hole locations, minimizing overall drilling cycle time and maximizing galvo scan- ner hardware performance. DrillOptimizer intelligently

determines the most efficient path through a pattern of holes, whether within a single scanner field of view (FOV) or when com- bined with a servo stage system using infinite field of view (IFOV). By identifying the ideal parameters for each move based on the user-specified settle win- dow and laser-on time, settling move delays are eliminated, allowing the laser to fire with zero delay if the scanner remains
within the settle window. Contact: Aerotech, Inc.,
