If a physical pin causes the wrong graphical pin to light up, the er- ror is visible immediately and can be corrected before any prod- uct is tested. The software also provides
safeguards against structural mapping problems. Duplicate as- signments can be flagged, and mistakes caused by unintended connections can be detected before they become part of the produc- tion test database. These guard - rails help catch the most common fixture setup errors at the point where they are easiest to fix.

Once a cable is learned and associated with the correct fix- ture map, that map can be re- stored automatically whenever the cable is loaded for future testing. This helps prevent mis- matches between the fixture be- ing used and the software map being applied. Custom fixture testing does
not have to mean slower setup, more manual documentation or a higher risk of operator error. With probe-driven mapping and built-in verification, manufactur- ers can move the burden from human attention to automated confirmation.
