Super Stylish Stripes

With perfectly coordinating stripe and plain styles, in updated colourways for 2017, Penrose from Crown Floors is the ideal carpet range for homeowners looking for feature flooring in their home.

Modern shades, including gull grey, silver dawn and mother of pearl, can be matched to three tonal stripe colourways of taupe ribbon, silver ribbon and greyscale ribbon to give a sophisticated look free from worry. Thanks to Satin Soft Easy Clean fibre, Penrose is safe from stains for 15 years and can be cleaned with a diluted bleach solution.

Gavin Freebairn, Field Sales Manager for Crown Floors, said: “While silk and velvet looks seem to be dominating the market right now, Penrose is still a strong seller for Crown Floors.

“Stripes are big business and Penrose provides the perfect mix of up-to-date palettes, satin-soft comfort and easy cleaning. For many homeowners, it is the ideal carpet and a fantastic way to bring feature flooring to their home.”

In a pattern repeat that’s ideal for use on stairs, stripe styles come in a four- metre width, while all plain colours are available in four and five-metre widths for fewer seams. A two-ply yarn adds resilience and makes the carpet ideal for use in busy family areas.

With five-star luxury and a 15-year wear warranty, Penrose delivers faultless quality and impressive value. The style is featured on Crown Floors’ popular Easy Clean tombola, as well as available on a lectern unit and featuring on the brand’s impressive wall unit.

Solve Your Floor Failure Disputes

With over 15 years’ worth of experience in the flooring industry, independent floor assessor Sid Bourne can provide expert advice to help you find the best solution when it comes to a floor failure dispute.

By conducting an on-site inspection and written report, the team will work to solve the issues to identify the cause of failure; whether it is a faulty product, installer error, or just a case of unrealistic expectations or even damage by the consumer or client.

The company finds that, in a lot of cases, the issue can often be amicably resolved without court action. However, if the problem is not resolvable and court action is required, they will then carry out court compliant reports. The

company has an impressive portfolio of success stories, having worked for many leading solicitors, retailers and members of the public to produce reports that have been successful when used in litigation.

Sid Bourne can also offer rectification advice on inspections carried out. Due to their experience in the flooring industry, the assessor can usually identify the cause of the failure. In a few cases, it may be required to uplift the flooring to further inspect, however this is not always required so they can carry out inspections without disturbing the consumers home or rooms. This can be important as, until blame is accepted, it is essential that destructive actions do not force a replacement floor.

Technical training for large groups for timber merchants and suppliers

can be undertaken on wood flooring by Sid Bourne, carried out at the Floorskills independent training centre. Installation courses are also readily available for installers, retailers and for anyone involved with wood flooring at Floorskills. All the courses are carried out by skilled trainers - this includes bespoke training if you so wish.

Whilst in an ideal world Sid Bourne’s services would not be required, if you do find yourself in an unfortunate situation of disagreement, you can call the team on 07929824153 or email sidbourne@blueyonder.co.uk, for informal advice leading to a site visit and report if necessary. The number is answered 7 days a week from 8:30am until 7pm and emails are answered swiftly.
