clear to us that it had to engage kids to want to learn about space activity through interactively and creatively designing their own spacecraft.

Staff at the Discovery Cube provided the accurate scientific information, and we worked on the software to allow kids to create their own spacecraft designs and send the spacecraft information from the tablets to a gesture interactive virtual world on the projection wall in front of them.

“WallFX can be projected onto any flat surface, permitting scalable display sizes, and with ceiling or

wall mounting options it also saves valuable floor space.”

We went through many versions of the app to allow them to create their chosen mission and space craft, until we had it simplified enough for young children to use it. Tweaks to our gesture-controlled wall had to be made to accept the real time input of new content on an ongoing interval measured basis, to easily adapt to alternating flows of traffic through the building.

options it also saves valuable floor space. It has been used for public space advertising, retail solutions, trade shows, special events, as well as in entrainment and educational institutions. The systems flexibility also allows for interactive projections on floors, windows, tables and counter tops. It comes preloaded with a vast library of over 50 special effects and games, however clients can also create their own custom effects, or have GestureTek do it for them, using any combination of 2-D and 3-D graphics, sound, video, Flash and now Unity 3D.

Additional features can allow the technology to accept any real time information or media assets from any external or mobile device. We have also connected them to BLE Beacons to allow the displays to react, and to send information and notifications to mobile devices; interacting and changing display content based on the dynamics of the information users give them permission to collect.

So what does this mean for the future of facility management; facilities now have the resources to allow customer and guest engagement to shift from single kiosk interaction to multi-point interactive networks throughout a given environment. Facilities can also use these platforms to direct traffic, capitalize on dwell time or engage specific customers at the right place at the right time. Right now, that looks like a jet propulsion lab in a science centre, but just imagine the endless possibilities this technology creates.
