POWER SUPPLIES: ADVERTORIAL
YorPower and PPSPower – the story behind the success
You may have heard of PPSPower – they have certainly featured a lot in our magazines. You may also have heard of YorPower and their strong global brand. But, what you may not be aware of is that they are sister companies and part of a wider group of companies that have an enviable synergy that gives the customer a one-stop-shop for all back-up power matters.
All companies within the Group are headquartered in Sherburn-in-Elmet, West Yorkshire, at a state-of-the-art office, warehouse and production facility:
• Glenace – a specialist manufacturer of ATS panels, LV Distribution, Controls and Electrical Switchgear.
• Generator Warehouse – selling diesel generators off the shelf through a dedicated website
• PPSPower is a UK-wide backup power service partner and an authorised Riello dealer with a the full range of UPS systems
• YorPower is an internationally recognised generator supplier with 31 dedicated dealerships globally – a figure that has grown over three decades of manufacture and supply, and continues to grow annually.
The PPSPower customer base is wide ranging, from public services such as National Grid, Scottish Water and West Yorkshire Police to communications and broadband providers like KCOM. Whether a blue chip FTSE 100 company or a smaller start-up, all their customers have come to rely on PPSPower and the wider group to ensure their business has continuous power around the clock through its products and services.
The YorPower business focuses strongly on exporting but has many high- profile UK-based projects on the go. One project with a leading telecommunications provider has been ongoing for many months and this is where the engineering workforce and expertise of PPSPower come in very handy.
Why is this important for you?
The focus of this group in the UK is to mitigate the risks associated with power failure from the grid. Power outages can range from a mild inconvenience to a life-or-death

situation. Research shows that they are becoming more common and more severe.
Healthcare providers and telecoms services depend on continuous power – even a momentary outage can be disastrous. However, virtually every business relies on electricity in one way or another, which is why a back-up power solution such as a UPS or generator should be considered for company premises.
Equally important is a servicing and maintenance plan to ensure equipment remains absolutely reliable. In the same way that a car that goes without a service risks one or more systems failing, a generator or UPS system must also be regularly serviced and maintained – especially if the businesses they serve rely on power 24/7.
The solution At PPSPower, all contracts are flexible and tailored in line with clients’ requirements. Coupled with this, and to deliver its prior objective of outstanding customer service, every member – from their coordination teams to their engineers and sales teams – understands the critical nature of the environments they work in and works in a joined-up way to ensure safety and quality are delivered every time.
The Group’s success stems from its pride in customer care; it forms the backbone of the company philosophy. Their partnership approach is something that sets them apart – and secured the 2020 PFM Partners in Expert Services Award for their work with KCOM, one of the UK’s longest established providers of communications services.
What next? The group of companies will continue to work closely together and build on the synergies and efficiencies to ensure they maintain their outstanding customer satisfaction results. The growth of all companies has been exceptional throughout these recent difficult years and there is every reason to expect them to keep driving on.
