ADDITIONAL ENTRIES Concierge Support Via Video for VPOD

by Moneypenny The rise of remote working has forced us to rethink the front- of-house function, as companies have recognised they can still maintain a professional welcome virtually.

In response to changing demand, Moneypenny partnered with Vpod’s Vgreet to launch a solution that enables Moneypenny receptionists to greet and assist visitors via an on-demand video concierge. Balancing the efficiency of technology with the reassurance of a real person, the solutions delivers an exceptional front of house experience without the need for social distancing.

The human touch

When designing the solution, both Moneypenny and Vpod recognised the general shift to utilising tech more, but agreed that people will always be needed in certain high-pressured situations. The unique partnership overcomes this, giving visitors the choice of dealing with tech or real people and helping those using virtual check-in systems for the first time to feel supported.

Supporting front-of-house

When front-of-house staff are already in place, the Vgreet solution supports their day-to-day roles. With this solution in place, FOH

teams are no longer tied to the check-in desk and can focus on becoming more concierge-style hosts. It also helps to manage variability in visitor volumes and reduce queues as more footfall to offices increases.

Seamless, safe check-in

If a visitor requires assistance whilst checking in, all they need to do is press or say “help” and they will be connected to a Moneypenny receptionist instantly. They’re able to see exactly which location the visitor is at, meaning every call is handled appropriately. Vgreet checks them in and prints off a visitor badge before notifying the relevant person that they’ve arrived. Following this, it uses thermal imaging technology to take their temperature.

Real-time information

Moneypenny receptionists are able to provide visitors with transport updates (including train and bus times) and contact details for taxi companies in the local area. They can also advise visitors on local amenities, such as recommended food establishments, car parks and even direct them to hotel accommodation if needed.

Sensazone

by Cistermiser The world of the commercial washroom is changing. Thanks to the latest designs, technology and manufacturing innovation, dingy, dark, wasteful and unhygienic ‘forgotten’ ‘Gents and Ladies’ are really enjoying an overhaul. Cistermiser, the UK’s leading commercial partner for efficient, smart water management solutions, discusses how demand is seeing growth in demand for InfraRed motion detection options, especially its Sensazone solution.

With life returning to normal and offices, education, leisure and travel all opening up, often having to meet flexing occupancy needs, there has been massive growth in interest for Sensazone. Part of Cistermiser’s No Touch Infrared range of washroom solutions, Sensazone offers an effective way for building owners and FMs to conserve water, energy – and money – based on occupancy and usage. It also reduces the incidence of vandalism and gives peace of mind against the risk of flooding.

Monitored by IR sensors, when someone enters or exits the washroom, all services controlled by Sensazone are activated / de-

activated, including hot and cold water supplies to basins, urinals, WCs, showers, lighting and ventilation extractor fans.

As Sensazone controls water at its entry point, the water is prevented from passing uncontrolled through any defective or damaged outlet, eliminating the risk of wastage or flooding during vacant periods – who knows if we’ll get another lock-down or if entire work teams will be forced to work from home again? If no movement is detected for a pre-determined period configurable to 15 or 30 minutes, water supply is cut off.

When it comes to specifying, refurbishing and designing commercial washrooms, occupancy-sensing product developments incorporating IR can deliver a lifestyle-enhancing “added value” solution that undoubtedly increases hygiene, but can also save water resources and improve the end-user experience. There are also potential financial savings on Buildings Insurance too. The benefits of solutions like Sensazone have never been more important than in this COVID-19 world, an upward trend that is only going to continue.
