Earlsmann’s multi-disciplinary team of commercial lighting consultants are experts in working with clients, and with contractors on site, to create high-quality lighting solutions that optimise building performance and offer rapid returns on investment through substantial ongoing energy savings. In-house designers use Relux modelling and CAD lighting simulations to create innovative, customer-focused lighting schemes. Earlsmann manufactures many of its LED lighting units at its own workshops in Devon, ensuring a high- quality, reliable product underpinned by a full five-year warranty.
• On-site initial meetings to determine client requirements and take measurements.
• Design of lighting to comply with CIBSE requirements, using modelling and CAD simulations to confirm client acceptance of the scheme.
• Provision of control and emergency backup systems to comply with BS5266 and all relevant Legislation.
• Bespoke design and UK manufacture of new LED luminaire insert that incorporates controls and emergency lighting within the existing fittings, minimising cost, disruption and waste.
• Calculating ‘return on investment’ figures to demonstrate value for money to the client.
• Continuing to work with the electrical contractor throughout the installation process and beyond, ensuring the project was delivered on time and within budget.

The project included lighting for a diverse range of spaces, including open plan offices, meeting rooms, stairwells and corridors, presentation rooms and public library facilities. In total, over 5,600 fluorescent light fittings were replaced with LED lighting.
By switching to LED the client has reduced energy consumption from lighting by up to 60%, with annual CO2 output reduced by 400 tonnes. The new lighting is extremely reliable, minimising whole-life costs. Building users and visitors are enjoying a brighter, more user- friendly environment.
