FROM VISION TO REALITY: A COLLABORATIVE APPROACH TO WORKPLACE TRANSFORMATION
Furniture consultancy, procurement, and move management by Fluid helped deliver a dynamic, future-facing workspace for Frontier Economics in the heart of the capital. Here, Tomorrow’s FM looks at the details.
Frontier Economics, a European economics consultancy, has recently completed the fit out of its brand-new London headquarters, partnering once again with Fluid to deliver a fully integrated furniture consultancy, procurement, and move management solution.
The project marks the latest chapter in a long-standing relationship between Frontier Economics and Fluid, following successful collaborations on their other London and Dublin offices.
Located across multiple floors and featuring a panoramic Sky Lounge with sweeping views of the London skyline, the new workspace is a celebration of functionality, design integrity, and adaptability. Brought to life through close coordination between design firm Perkins & Will, cost consultants Gardiner & Theobald, fit out contractor Overbury, and Fluid as trustworthy furniture partner.
A complete design package As workplace culture evolves, organisations are rethinking how office environments can better support collaboration, wellbeing, and flexibility. For Frontier Economics, this meant creating a space that felt inclusive, agile and reflective of their forward-thinking values, without compromising on performance or comfort.
Fluid’s role in the project covered every stage of the furniture journey. From early design input and product selection, through to procurement, logistics, installation and the phased move from their previous space. Fluid also ensured a smooth delivery against a challenging construction schedule.
“It was important to us that the new office didn’t just look great. It had to work hard for the people using it,” said Marion Franke, Director of Facilities at Frontier Economics.
She continued: “Fluid brought real insight to the process. From helping us choose the right pieces to coordinate the move and repurposing what we already had, they helped us get the most from our budget without compromising on quality or style.”
Purposeful design with practical functionality A key feature of the project was achieving harmony between open-plan collaboration and quiet focus zones. Fluid helped to deliver a thoughtful blend of furniture solutions that support a variety of working styles, whether it’s quiet solo work, ad hoc group sessions, or formal meetings.

New height-adjustable desking and ergonomic task seating were specified to promote wellbeing and adaptability across all teams. Fluid also provided bespoke acoustic pods designed to integrate seamlessly with the partitioning system, offering visual and acoustic privacy within the open-plan layout.
Elsewhere in the building, a rich mix of collaborative furniture encourages informal interaction and flexible teamwork. The 8th floor Sky Lounge was fitted with carefully curated breakout furniture to complement the natural textures and impressive views across the city. A new roof terrace provides space for socialising, creative thinking, and outdoor working with robust outdoor furniture that is weather-resistant and design-led.
Meeting rooms were equipped with a combination of custom joinery, unique flip-top tables with integrated battery power (provided by Workbench), and a clever reuse of existing items. Several pieces from Frontier Economics’ previous offices were reupholstered and vinyl wrapped, blending seamlessly into the new aesthetic while reducing waste and cost.
Efficient move management and phased delivery Alongside the consultancy and procurement work, Fluid also managed the full relocation of existing furniture and IT equipment, a complex task requiring phased delivery and installation in an active construction environment.
By collaborating closely with Overbury and coordinating with other trades on site, Fluid was able to implement a precise, staged approach to delivery. This minimised disruption, kept timelines on track, and ensured that every phase of the office was ready for use when needed.
“We thrive on demanding projects,” said Warwick Flint, Managing Director at Fluid. “This project with Frontier Economics is a brilliant example of what’s possible when there’s a clear vision, strong partnerships, and mutual trust. We’re proud to have played a key role in bringing their workspace vision to life once again.”
Furniture with purpose Furniture for the new HQ was sourced from a wide range of leading brands, each selected for their quality, sustainability credentials and aesthetic fit. These included: Kinnarps, Humanscale, Konig & Neurath, Orangebox, Frovi, ORN, Icons of Denmark, Kartell, Norr11, Muuto, Workbench, and Sixteen3.
