Product innovation
RSL has launched a new range of one-pack water-based products which are suitable for clients looking for easy to install and quick-drying properties.
Resupen SPD Coloured, a water- based Polyurethane coating, and Resucryl WB Coloured, a water-based acrylic coating, are fast-drying and available in a range of colours in both satin and slip-resistant grades. Both products achieve excellent adhesion, while retaining good flexibility.
The products are easy to apply, with no special skills required, making them a cost-effective solution. They are also easy to repair and maintain.
Developed for both the residential and commercial market the new one-pack products are particularly useful for public spaces where down-time needs to be at an absolute minimum. The quick- dry properties can make them touch dry within two hours.
Ali Kalantar commented: “These new products do what they say on the tin. They are easy to apply and offer excellent coverage, making them an ideal product for people in need of a quick flooring solution that’s affordable.
“The fact that no specialist skills are required to apply them makes them a good choice for smaller scale domestic projects too, a market we haven’t really targeted before.”
Ali added:
“Innovation is integral to our industry. We are constantly striving for better ways of doing things and are focussing our efforts on using greener technology, reducing cost and tackling some of the challenges faced by our customers such as drying times, ease of use, durability and longevity.”
Flooring Solutions Thanet Earth
Thanet Earth, which is based in Birchington in Kent, is the UK’s biggest single production site of salad crops such as tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers.
RSL supplied a Chablis resin flooring in the canteen and offices owned by tomato specialists, Kaaij Greenhouses UK Ltd, who shares part of a 50%
stake in the project and has its own plot at the site.
Resuflor is a self-smoothing, seamless epoxy which combines outstanding wearing properties with an attractive finish. Resupen W.B. was applied to provide a matt appearance.
Martin Wroe, Commercial Director at RSL, explained:
“Resin flooring isn’t always commonplace in the commercial sector, so this project was a very interesting one for us. Kaaij Greenhouses wanted flat flooring in areas subject to lots of natural light, so we gave them a matt system with a UV-stable finish which fits with their aesthetic brilliantly.”
