Resin Surfaces Ltd (RSL) is a UK leading specialist manufacturer of resin floor and wall finishes and is fast becoming an international force. Today the company’s products are sold and installed worldwide from the Stockport base driven by a passion for innovation and quality across the board.


Here is the RSL story:


RSL was set up in 1982 and was originally based in Styal, near


Manchester Airport. In 1995, thanks to significant expansion, RSL moved to its current head office and manufacturing site in Hazel Grove.


During the last 30 years the company has developed an extensive range of primers, epoxy resin floor coatings, epoxy resin floor screeds and self- smoothing finishes, polyurethane floor coatings, polyurethane floor screeds and self-smoothing finishes, wall coatings, anti-static flooring systems, cleaning and maintenance products.


Managing Director Ivy Wroe joined the firm in 1989, took on majority shares and became MD in 2007 and today the company employs 32 people – including her son Martin as Commercial Director – and has an annual turnover of £5m plus.


“We always encouraged a family feel to the business,” said Ivy. “I think that way people know they are part of something special, something that’s worth caring about.”


Good people is a recurring theme in RSL’s success over the years and today there is a skilled and experienced team in place to help the company go to the next level.


“We aim to grow turnover to £7m by 2016,” said Ivy. “So that’s about making sure we have all the right people in the right places who understand their contribution. I am confident we have that.”
