CLEANING CHEMICALS & EQUIPMENT La Pièce de Résistance
A carpet care company restore a highly valuable rug with the help of a couple of Prochem products.
Cleaning carpets, rugs and fabrics of such high quality and value might put many cleaning technicians off due to the risk, but not Carpet Care France in Paris.
The company has had contracts with the French government for many years now and that involves the cleaning and regular maintenance of carpets, fabrics and rugs worth millions of Euros.
“[The rug] was so large the clean had to take
place in the warehouse of the Notre Dame.”
Over the years, owner Sebastien Malfanti has developed a business that offers their clients not only the highest level of care and support, but they have expanded their specific services to include a fully operational rug cleaning plant including drying room, colour repair and carpet and rug repairs, following damage by insect infestation, for example.
Sales Manager Adil Karem manages a team of over 30 technicians in Paris alone, with contracts to clean inside many different government institutions, as well as multiple prestigious hotels.
Adil and his teams are highly trained and he regularly visits Prochem for refresher training, often with his team. They represent a great advocate of Prochem cleaning solutions, and Carpet Care uses them as a matter of confidence.
Recently, Carpet Care was asked to clean and restore a rug, manufactured back in 1853, for the Notre Dame Du Paris. The roof of Notre Dame Du Paris was damaged by fire back in 2019 and the building has been closed for renovation work since, with an expected re-opening in late 2024. The rug was slightly contaminated by smoke but wasn't just any rug – it was huge and valued at just over €2m.
Adil and his team set to work with a very focused and careful vacuuming of the rug. It was so large that the clean had to take place in the warehouse of the Notre Dame Du Paris.
Then, with the aid of Prochem products, in particular C803 Fiberdri and A222 Smoke & Odour Neutraliser, and a great deal of pride, they cleaned and restored the client’s valued item.
The painstaking work took Adil and his team days to clean but, once completed, the extremely valuable rug will be back
