ISS Austria partners with ToolSense

ISS Austria, number one in Austria’s facility services market, is strengthening its position as a technology leader in the industry through its cooperation with ToolSense.

The start-up’s innovative software and Internet of Things (IoT) solutions enable ISS to efficiently manage all its machines. Every day, around 30,000 machines are in use at ISS Austria – including over 6000 large machines primarily in cleaning and employee catering. The integration of ToolSense makes processes transparent and easy to view, especially with regard to the use, tracking and efficiency of machines.

Erich Steinreiber, CEO of ISS Austria, sees many advantages in the collaboration. He said: “In order to meet our customers' requirements even better, we are constantly investing in new systems. ISS pays particular attention to increasing quality, creating transparency and reducing costs. This also benefits our customers in the long term. In this way, we want to act even better and faster for them.”

Simple functionality for more efficiency in everyday life

With the integration of the ToolSense product range, the company reduces numerous manual work steps, digitises existing processes and creates a significant reduction in workload for all employees. This is made possible by ToolSense's own IoT hardware and the use of QR codes. With the help of this, the location of the machine can be viewed at any time and possible errors can be detected directly. In addition, machine failures as well as upcoming maintenance are recorded and tracked in real time.

Alexander Manafi, CEO of ToolSense, commented: “Through the ToolSense App, the employees of ISS Austria can digitalise all their equipment processes and save a lot of time. By integrating the ToolSense IoT modules, they have a real-time overview at all times and are alerted to any problems by the machine itself – automatically and

immediately. This way we avoid unpleasant surprises and unnecessary trips to the object. This saves employees a lot of time, nerves and also CO2 emissions.”

Matchmaking: roll out across national borders

The first encounter between ISS and ToolSense developed through the innovation ecosystem weXelerate – with which the domestic industry leader has been working since 2020. Steinreiber commented: “We realised very quickly in the course of initial discussions that ToolSense is a valuable partner for us. In the future, we want to continue to push the cooperation with the start-up.”

ISS is currently working on rolling out ToolSense products throughout Austria. ToolSense also sees the partnership with the domestic market leader as a great opportunity.

Manafi concluded: “We are grateful for the trust that ISS Austria has placed in us and proud of our shared vision. By disclosing internal processes, we and our product can grow and mature.”

ToolSense was founded in June 2017 as part of the FH Technikum Wien incubator program. The vision of ToolSense is to make the use of industrial machines more transparent, efficient, affordable and sustainable. By developing the ToolSense platform and ToolSense IoT hardware, operators and machine builders can digitalise their fleet and create transparency.

Using specific ToolSense QR codes, service and inspection processes can be digitally mapped from the machine operator to the machine manufacturer. This strengthens collaboration and previously manual tasks can be automated. This saves machine operators a great deal of time, nerves and costs. ToolSense has won the ‘eAward Production’, the ‘INTERCLEAN Innovation Award’, the ‘Construction Equipment Forum Startup Award’ and several other prizes.
