“Effective cleaning

regimes need to ensure all surfaces are cleaned

with the correct cleaning solution and equipment.”

The right dispenser

Here, Brightwell Dispensers discuss how to choose the right dispensing equipment for your concentrated cleaning chemicals.

Correct hand hygiene is the most effective way to prevent the spread of germs and viruses and to protect yourself and others, but it’s also important to have effective cleaning regimes in place to help reduce the spread of infections.

Effective cleaning regimes need to ensure all surfaces are cleaned with the correct cleaning solution and equipment. Using the right cleaning chemicals combined with the correct equipment and cleaning routines is therefore crucial in achieving the best cleaning results, and in creating a hygienic and clean environment.

When using chemical dispensing systems, it’s important to have the correct dilution ratio of concentrated chemicals to effectively clean and sanitise surfaces. By having the correct amount of cleaning chemical dispensed each time, there will be no need for re-cleaning to get the desired results, often not achieved by using the wrong amount of product the first time around. A dispensing system that delivers accurate and consistent dosing of chemicals is essential to deliver high quality cleaning results.

Making sure that the system you purchase works for you is important. Does it dose the amount of chemical you require? Can you change the amount you need to dose easily? There are many different types of chemical dispensing systems on the market and businesses need to consider a few key factors before making a decision.

Placement planning

Access to mains water is one of the main considerations when choosing a dosing/dilution system. If you do not have access to mains water, a manual dosing system with some form of delay mechanism that prevents repeat dosing would be suitable. The ECOSHOT from Brightwell, for example, is a manual stand-alone chemical dispensing system that does not require a mains water connection and its built-in delay function prevents overdosing once a shot of chemical concentrate has been delivered.

If you have a mains water connection you can consider a Venturi-based dilution system. Connected to mains water, these systems create a vacuum and dilute a pre-determined ratio of chemical, delivering a final cleaning solution. The ECOMIX and ECOMULTI from Brightwell are Venturi-based systems, connected to mains water, for dilution of chemical concentrates to a pre-determined ratio.

Dispensing solution

The cleaning task and the container that the diluted chemical will be used in will determine the flow of the dispensing system. High flow systems can fill buckets, sinks and scrubber dryers, whereas to fill a spray bottle a low-flow system is sufficient.

Chemical choice

Before choosing the suitable dispenser, it’s important to consider how many cleaning chemicals need to be dispensed. Would you like to have a one-stop cleaning station to dispense multiple chemicals from one dispenser? Or is the dispensing of just one cleaning chemical sufficient?

If the user will be using multiple cleaning chemicals for different purposes, dispensers often come with clear, colour- coded signage that shows which chemical to use for each application, which would be ideal for busy environments.

Ease

Easy installation and maintenance are beneficial features, as it means the job can be done quickly and efficiently.

Brightwell Dispensers’ chemical dispensing dilution systems offer businesses precise, safe and cost-effective chemical management solutions. Their ECORANGE is a selection of proportioners and manual dosing systems for dispensing from one to up to five chemicals.
