business case for investment’ and ‘Measure, Monitor, Act - Three steps to reducing your company’s carbon footprint’

The Facilities Forum will also feature sessions from Theresa Flower, Facilities Manager at Nottingham City Council and Liz Kentish, the new deputy chair of BIFM. The complete timetable will be published on the Facilities Show website.

In line with visitor research conducted, the 2012 exhibition will reflect a demand for increased content on sustainability. Therefore, the Sustainable FM Academy returns within a bigger and better Energy Management Zone. Also on the theme of sustainability, leading waste management company, SITA UK will be the first ever Facilities Show recycling sponsor. Adrian Clarke, Director of Sales for SITA UK has emphasised the importance of recycling and waste for facilities managers and also the growing requirement for waste management companies to engage with FMs in order for them to remain abreast of the ever changing legislative and technological landscape:

“SITA UK is delighted to be involved

at this year’s show. FMs are playing an increasingly important role in the management of recycling and waste for large organisations across the country and we already work alongside some of the biggest names in the industry to successfully deliver these services.

“Professional waste management is a highly specialist and complex skill, requiring organisations to keep up with constantly changing legislation, new technologies and best practices. As one of the leading recycling and resource management companies in the country, SITA UK has the skills and experience to meet the requirements of any customer, and we are happy to be showcasing our services at such a large event.”

The growth of the waste management provision at Facilities Show will be evident in the number of leading companies which have chosen to exhibit. These include SITA UK, Grundon Waste Management, Biffa Waste Services, Bagnall & Morris, Environmental Waste Systems, Overton Recycling and Waste Efficiency Ltd.

A record 250 exhibitors are expected, reflecting the scale and diversity of

this ever growing sector. Visitors will have the chance to engage with companies and service providers from the worlds of energy management, maintenance, security, vending, parking, waste management, information technology, cleaning, health & safety, interiors, office management and sustainability. The shows biggest ever networking bar will provide the perfect environment for meetings and the Facilities Management Association (FMA) is set to hold their May networking event at the show.

Facilities Show will be located in its own hall at Birmingham NEC, having previously shared an entrance with Safety & Health Expo.
