FM Focus expansion effort.”

Founded in Singapore in1992, DTG has specialised in aircraft cabin cleaning and related services for over 20 years. The company lists airport services management companies Singapore Airport Terminal Services Ltd and Asia Pacific Star among its major clients. OCS will build on DTG’s existing

OCS Group Ltd recently acquired the outsourced cleaning company Don Thaker Group (DTG) in Singapore as a key step in the Group’s strategic £40 million expansion plan forthe region.

Chris Cracknell, Chief Executive Officer for OCS Group, commented: “We intend to grow revenues derived from overseas operations rapidly over the next three years. Following the acquisition of DTG, our Singapore-based operations will serve as a critical pillar of this global

aircraft services portfolio at Changi Airport, developing this as its new regional hub for a range of aviation- related support and maintenance services.

International facilities services provider OCS will re-name and re- brand DTG by the end of 2012 and will offer total facilities management services under the OCS umbrella. Over the next three years, OCS aims to add another 1,000 jobs to the existing 1,000 full-time DTG staff in Singapore.

Matting taken for a ride

Heronrib matting is enhancing the enjoyment of guests at Resorts World Sentosa, Singapore, and their sight of the wonderful canals, picturesque bridges and architecture of Venice on its new Gondola Ride.

The operators recognised that there was a potential for the floor of the gondolas to get damp and wet which might cause slips and falls for guests. Matting specialist Klenco was approached to find a solution and they had no hesitation in recommending Heronrib matting, manufactured by Plastic Extruders Ltd.

Heronrib is the perfect answer for this type of wet area problem. The matting has an open grid construction and raised profile underbars, which help water to drain away easily in all directions. With an

overall height of 10mm, the pooling water is also kept away from guests’ shoes and bags. As the matting is easy to cut to size, it contours perfectly into the bottom of the gondolas.

Heronrib, manufactured from hardwearing non- porous vinyl, is widely used for wet areas, such as external walkways, changing rooms and around swimming pools. The embossed surface is comfortable to stand on and highly slip resistant, while the anti-bacterial and anti-fungal additives added at manufacture ensure it is hygienic for bare feet and reduce cross-contamination. The matting, available in several colours, is supplied in 10m long rolls and in widths of 50cm, 1m and 1.22m.

OCS Group Ltd Expands in Singapore

Chris Cracknell further commented: “Singapore has a sound infrastructure and is an established business and aviation hub with many regional and global multi-national corporations headquartered here. We will use Singapore to position ourselves as the principal TFM contractor for local, regional and global clients, targeting in particular the aviation, healthcare, education, pharmaceutical and IT manufacturing sectors.”

“I am honoured that OCS has invited DTG to be part of their global network,” added DTG’s Managing Director, Mr Thaker. This partnership will raise our capabilities, range of services and geographical reach, helping us to take full advantage of the opportunities in this fast-growing region. More importantly, this partnership adds jobs to Singapore, and allows our workers to improve their skill sets.”
