Chemspec Europe offers a solution for dull, scratched wood floors, without the need for a sander.
The explosion, in recent years, of the popularity of exposed wood has a number of problems. Normal everyday living can affect the once perfect finish showing signs of dullness, wear, scratches and dents causing dissatisfaction and even embarrassment where once there was pride. Research shows that, of the millions of homes with exposed wood floors, two out of three have some form of damage.
Now, from Chemspec Europe, there is a revolutionary new method available to quickly restore wood floors without the high cost, and dust associated with traditional sanding.
The Wood Solv system is a three-step process that restores dull, scratched wood floors to their original beauty with no sanding. Frequently the process is carried out by carpet cleaners who have seen the growth in hard floors eroding their traditional carpet cleaning market and have adopted Wood Solv to satisfy their customers changing requirements.
Because no sanding is involved the process can be used on engineered flooring or wood laminates where the thickness of the wood layer is too thin to risk sanding through to the substrate layer.

The three steps begin with a non-sanding application of a chemical abrasion formula, which provides an ideal bond for the new crystal clear, fast drying topcoat. Before applying the finish coat the operator carries out any repairs needed with the range of repair products including colour fill sticks and putty to fill scratches and dents followed by grain replacement with a selection of graining pencil colours.
After adding a catalyst, the unique water based coating formula is applied to provide a beautiful finish that is twice as durable as conventional wood finishes and does not yellow with age.
Importantly there are no hazardous fumes and homeowners can remain in the property while their floors are being professionally restored. An average room can be completed in just a couple of hours with far less upheaval and at a fraction of the cost involved in traditional sand and seal treatments.
Homeowners are understandably wary of wood floor restoration, which conjures up visions of prolonged inconvenience, even the need to move out until the work is completed. This, coupled with the high cost and the problems of
cleaning up the dust that spreads through the rest of the property, is enough to deter many from commissioning a sand and seal process.
