In spite of economic conditions, Cormar Carpets, one of the UK’s leading tufted carpet manufacturers, is expanding its delivery fleet by nearly 20%.
David Judge, Managing Director of Cormar said:
“Our delivery service is fundamental to the success of the company. As consumer demand for ever shorter lead times put retailers under increasing pressure to deliver, we have risen to the challenge and added extra vehicles to the fleet.”
It was over three decades ago that Cormar decided to make door-to-door delivery part of its service. Now from its Bury, Lancashire, base, it delivers right across the UK direct from site and through 12 outbases, strategically located to offer an average 48 hour nationwide turnaround service to customers.
The company has introduced eight new vehicles to its line up, taking the total in-house fleet to 58. The vehicles (DAF 75’s and LF’s 55’s supplied by Lancashire DAF,
