FLEXIBILITY MEETS QUALITY | FLEXIDRY

When tight deadlines push flooring contractors to make compromises on screed drying time, it is often quality that bears the brunt of the haste. FlexiDry fast drying floor screeds comes as a relief to contractors and builders, providing them with the flexibility to accommodate unwarranted plan changes while ensuring the quality of their screed remains nothing short of the very best.

With an enviable portfolio of iconic projects to its credit, FlexiDry fast drying floor screed is one of the most trusted screed brands in the industry today. Right from addressing the ever pertinent issue of long drying times (110 days under a controlled temperature of 20°C and 50% RH for normal screeds) and the common screed problems of cracking and shrinkage, this innovative screed system has been specially designed as the single answer to all those screeding problems that are every flooring contractor’s worst nightmare.

To begin with, FlexiDry comes as a highly concentrated liquid additive, which can be added to the screed mixture right at the site (no bulky pre-packaged bags or a series of confusing additive mixtures). Now, the best part is, the same FlexiDry additive can be used in three varied dosages of 85, 125 and

175ml/25kg cement (called the F1, F2, F3 formulations) to conveniently alter the drying time of a normal cement- sand screed mixture to 7, 14 or 21 days, as required. For an even quicker drying time there is FlexiDry F0, which gives an express drying time of just 3 days compared to approximately three months for normal screeds. “Apart from providing greater flexibility to contractors in terms of quick drying times, this screed system also works to eliminate most of the practical difficulties associated with screeding,” commented Spencer Warner, Managing Director of FlexiDry certified contractors, CSC Screeding Ltd.

Greater cost effectiveness and minimal wastage as the screed can be mixed at the site as and when required and can be dried in time with actual project deadlines; making for

easier transport and storage due to the high concentration- low volume nature of the liquid additive and eliminating the need for polythene curing. It also does not require controlled temperature and RH conditions and is easy to mix and apply. The list of practical benefits just goes on.

While normal screeds require a minimum of 48 hours to allow foot traffic, with FlexiDry there is the additional advantage of faster work progress at the site as it allows foot traffic to proceed within 12 hours of installation. FlexiDry further helps to improve the compressive strength of the screed (25-30 N/sq.mm), providing better compaction and eliminates the need for mesh reinforcement.

The highly controlled process of drying of FlexiDry also reduces shrinkage considerably, enabling larger

bay sizes. It is a favourite for underfloor heating (UFH) and sustainable constructions as FlexiDry helps in bringing down energy consumption for UFH due to its superior ability to conduct and retain the generated heat. Being 100% recyclable also gets this screed system as close to environment friendly as a cement-based product can get.

From the floors for the Athletes Village and the Arcelormittal Orbit for the 2012 Olympic Park, the prestigious Lancasters, Sushi Samba, Central Parcs, the Rolex Store at one Hyde Park and even more projects across various sectors, FlexiDry is a testimonial for quality and flexibility at its best.
