FLOOR CLEANING & MAINTENANCE | SPONSOR

EFFICIENCY IN ANTHRACITE | KÄRCHER

The name Kärcher is synonymous with high performance, quality and innovation and for cleaning expertise that sets standards. As the inventor of high-pressure cleaners, Kärcher is a world market leader and one of the driving forces behind technological developments in the cleaning technology field.

Kärcher’s most recent milestone in the development of world class products is the anthracite colour system that is now used for all Kärcher Professional machines, including high- pressure cleaners, scrubber driers, sweepers, vacuums and steam cleaners. The colour change has created a clear differentiation between consumer-use products (yellow) and commercial-use products (anthracite), and is part of a strategic realignment of the entire company to focus on the customer.

“Our focus,” explained Hartmut Jenner, Chairman of the Kärcher Management Board, “is on ensuring that our customers’ needs are totally satisfied. The new colour is an important step in that direction in that it makes it much easier for them to choose the category of equipment they require. Their expectations of our brand are the starting point and destination of how we think and act.”

A further advantage of anthracite as a colour is that it fits inconspicuously into its surroundings. It is also a colour that is more resistant to dirt, reducing the effort

and expense required to keep machines clean. Colour coding also makes Kärcher’s professional products easier to operate and maintain. Controls that are required for the cleaning process are yellow and those that relate to maintenance and servicing are light grey.

Floor cleaning

and maintenance According to the world’s biggest professional health and safety organisation, IOSH, slips and trips are the most common causes of work accidents, accounting for nearly 40% of major injuries at work. Over 90% of slips occur when floors are wet or contaminated with food product. Dirty floors also look unprofessional and create a negative first impression for visitors and customers. Kärcher has a wide range of machines designed to help you keep your floors clean, dry and safe from slip and trip hazards – whatever the size, finish and environment.

Scrubber driers For cleaning and drying of large areas of hard floor in environments ranging from warehouses to offices,

a scrubber drier such as Kärcher’s B 60 W is ideal. This machine covers large floors quickly and can be fitted with different width cleaning heads with discs or rollers, giving it enormous versatility in a range of applications.

In comparison, smaller areas such as toilets and washrooms might demand a BR 30/4 C, a highly compact scrubber drier that is as easy to use as an upright vacuum cleaner. Compared to mopping, the BR 30/4 leaves surfaces uniformly clean and instantly dry, only ever uses clean water/detergent and is less physically demanding for operators to use.

Sweepers Kärcher sweepers are designed to pick up dust, dirt and litter from both internal and external surfaces. The range includes both walk- behind and ride-on machines. The Kärcher KM 75/40 W, for example, is a powered sweeper that can be supplied as battery or petrol-powered depending on whether it will be used inside or out. Similarly, the ride-on KM 90/60 R is offered with either battery or petrol power and features a

three wheel chassis, excellent manoeuvrability and very simple operation.

Single-disc

floor polishers Many hard floor surfaces need floor polishers to generate a squeaky clean shine. Kärcher’s new BDS and BDP single disc machines feature unique dual control bars, making scrubbing and polishing more convenient and productive than ever. The dual-bar design enables a spray tank to be mounted low on the machine – increasing contact pressure and reducing operator fatigue, and provides a smaller footprint to make storage and transport easier.

Kärcher not only offers prospective customers advice on the right products for their floor type, but also offers the opportunity to put its equipment into a live trial before purchasing.
