YEARBOOK 2013 /14 | COVER STORY

MAKING FLOORING LESS BORING

With the regular parade of people entering your building, entrance matting has to stand the test of all kinds of foot borne dirt and moisture. But just because the flooring needs to be functional, it doesn’t mean it has to be boring. Get creative with your matting and make an entrance!

Finding the right interior design takes a lot of time, effort and money. Floors, especially those in the entrance areas, are part of the all-important first impression that helps create the right atmosphere.

Even though budgets might be tight, there really is no need to put up with uninspiring and uniform grey when you can use colour to extend the décor theme and brighten up dull floors at no extra cost. With Syncros Entrance Matting Systems, an eye-catching floor design needn’t come with a designer price tag. As one of the UK's leading specialist suppliers and installers of entrance matting, Syncros

uses products from award- winning supplier, Milliken, to provide practical and hardwearing floorcoverings that will look good for years, no matter what comes their way.

Milliken Obex Forma™ tiles are available in a range of colours, carefully chosen by Syncros to make maximum impact while also concealing dirt. Moisture-retaining textile inserts, made of multi- filament polyamide fibres, work in tandem with tough scraping mono-filaments to remove foot borne debris. The choice of colours also means that there is something to co-ordinate with all interior designs possibilities.

The modular tiles are 200mm x 200mm and can be placed in most configurations over any size or shape of floor area. You can even see how your colour scheme could look by designing your own entrance matting at www.syncros. co.uk/dyo and, what’s more, Milliken Obex Forma™ tiles are available in 11mm gauge for surface mounting or 16mm gauge for mat well installation and readily stocked at Syncros for swift delivery. Fitting is simple, since tiles can be trimmed to size with a safety knife before connecting to adjacent tiles, and you can use your own contractors or Syncros’ experienced team of technicians for installation.

Once the matting is fitted, there is absolutely no need to worry about the colours staying bright and vibrant as Milliken Obex Forma™ has excellent wash and light fastness properties and is backed by a five-year guarantee and maintenance. It is straightforward with the usual carpet cleaning systems, and should there ever be need to replace a damaged area, this can be carried out easily and cheaply by colour matching and replacing the necessary tile(s) without lifting the entire matting.

John Morgan, General Manager at Syncros Entrance Matting Systems, commented: “Even small changes can
