Editor’s Voice Welcome to the 2013/2014
Tomorrow’s Cleaning Yearbook. Another Yearbook complete. Wow. I can still remember the first time we put one together, three years ago. I sat down and flicked through our older versions earlier and felt very proud to see so many companies still going strong today, despite the tough few years that the UK industry has been subjected to. And, in this yearbook, I’m happy to say that some new innovations feature too, which proves we have still got it!
At the moment, the cleaning industry is still battling on through many a misconception. As I write this, the Chief Medical Officer has requested to move antibiotic resistance to the national risk register. This could be the cleaning industry’s opportunity to show just how valuable its contribution to society is. Obviously antibiotic advances are always important, but prevention is usually the best cure when good cleaning practices and hand hygiene awareness can be the difference between a few cases of infection and an epidemic. Hopefully many organisations will turn to the very companies in this yearbook for a solution?
Whatever the outcome, let’s hope that we can continue growing steadily as the months pass and 2013 turns into 2014. Perhaps this Yearbook, like the past three, will be a reminder of just how far the industry has come.
It isn’t always easy to find a comprehensible guide to the industry - with everything arranged in one accessible place. From Associations to Working at Height, whoever you need to speak to, or whatever product you need, you will find it nestled between these pages.
The Tomorrow’s Cleaning Yearbook offers you a definitive reference guide for the cleaning industry, in an easily-readable format. The next time you need a certain product or service; I know you will turn to the Yearbook for the solution.
Our ‘What’s On?’ guide, tells you the places to be and people to see. Our Useful Contacts page lists those all important numbers for when you need help, advice, or simply just that right person to talk to. Our alphabetised industry sectors means that you can easily locate a manufacturer, supplier or a service provider quickly and efficiently.
We hope you enjoy this Yearbook and it will serve you well over the next 12 months. Here’s to another fantastic year.
