22 Remote Controlled ULT Freezers for Laboratory and Medical Use

Daihan Scientific Group is a laboratory instrument and medical device distribution, manufacturing, and total service company in South Korea. DAIHAN®

ULT Freezer has built a cold chain for COVID-19 vaccines in South Korea. The DuoFreez™ is an independent dual compressor freezing system that fulfils

the most important function of ULT freezers - high stability and robustness. Both compressors work to drop the internal temperature to -95℃, but should one unexpectedly fail, the other still operates as a ‘backup’ and protects the sample by maintaining a cryogenic temperature of -80°C. It is a highly efficient refrigeration system that minimises noise, power consumption and operational errors.

Incorporating Daihan Scientific’s CFC-free ultra-low temperature refrigerant ‘DH-MGR’, the system features rigid foamed urethane insulation, inner door insulation, a 3-layer gasket to prevent cold air leakage and intrusion of external temperature, maximising the insulation effect.

Daihan Scientific introduced the world’s first IoT technology-based Smart-Lab™ System at ACHEMA in 2012, which allows users to remotely control experimental equipment through WiRe™ App. DAIHAN® anytime, anywhere with a mobile phone.

ULT Freezer incorporates the Smart-Lab™ System, allowing you to check and control the freezer

The ergonomic 7” full touchscreen LCD displays all key functions and parameters on the main screen and sets them with a simple touch. Data is displayed in high-resolution graphics, saved automatically and can be transferred to a PC via USB memory. WiRe™ Service has a self-diagnostic function that automatically checks for major component failures and alerts to users, service personnel, and suppliers. Storage Management Function (SMF) records the location of samples in the chamber so that they can be easily found on the screen and Samples can be managed easily and safely.

Daihan Scientific produces a wide range of 25~800 litre ULT freezers for -95ºC~-65ºC and -86ºC~-65ºC with 4 or 5-inner doors. -45ºC~-15ºC Freezers, 2ºC~10ºC blood/pharmaceutical refrigerators and 0ºC~10ºC Laboratory refrigerators are also available, all of which are fitted with the Smart-Lab™ System.

Voltera, a leader and manufacturer of additive and printed electronics technology, has announced the launch of NOVA, a groundbreaking platform for printing flexible hybrid electronics. NOVA uses direct-ink write technology to print circuits on soft, stretchable, and conformable surfaces.

“This first-of-its-kind benchtop machine unlocks rapid flexible hybrid electronics prototyping and the ability to experiment with custom inks and substrates,” said Alroy Almeida, CEO and co-founder of Voltera. “NOVA is already being used to innovate how humankind explores deep space; to develop printed, on-skin sensors for medical imaging; and to prototype clothing that can measure your heart rate yet can go through the gentle cycle in your washing machine.”

NOVA’s precision extrusion technology makes it easier and faster to conduct research by enabling rapid benchtop iteration, leading to more reliable results and lower costs.

“With NOVA, we can make devices and align them to sub 10-micron precision, which is essential to everything that we do,” said Alex Kashkin, Graduate Researcher, Velasquez Group at MIT, who is using NOVA to develop printed electron sources for neutralising ionic thruster plumes in low-earth orbit. “If we have a 20-micron deviation, our devices explode. We need a lot of precision, we need to have tuned materials, and NOVA enables both.”

NOVA features: Semi-automated calibration - New material calibration can happen anywhere between a few minutes to a few hours. It no longer takes months to dial-in print settings. NOVA creates high-resolution prints using any screen printable material; Vacuum Table and custom fixturing - Print directly onto soft, flexible, 3D printed, and unevenly shaped materials. Made from porous titanium, the Vacuum Table applies uniform airflow to substrates. It is easily removed to expose custom fixturing elements for securing rigid substrates like glass or traditional FR4 boards; Smart Dispenser - NOVA senses the pressure, temperature, and viscosity of any ink or screen-printable material. It is so precise, you can print anything on everything; Integrated vision system - Align and inspect prints quickly using an onboard camera with an AR print overlay.
