Cost-effective Autoclave Range for Laboratory Applications
LTE Scientific are delighted to announce the launch of its latest line, the Touchclave-V series of laboratory autoclaves. The Touchclave-V series offer a cost-effective solution capable of processing most laboratory applications. Designed with simplicity in mind the Touchclave-V range come in 2 standard sizes of 50 and 80-litre capacities. The range consists of 3 models with each offering more expediency allowing for a greater range of applications to be processed.
All models sterilise using an in-chamber heater to generate steam and operate between temperatures of 115ºC to 134ºC with the V+ Dry having an extended range of 105-134ºC. Starting with the most economical model, the Touchclave-V has a simple button configurable control panel allowing users to set their required temperature/ times before starting their cycle. The second model, the Touchclave-V+ has a more advanced control panel with touchscreen controls and the ability to store up to 10 cycles for ease of use, this also has the facility to store cycle data. Lastly the most advanced model, the Touchclave-V+ Dry comes with touchscreen control panel, internal data archiving and USB connection for data extraction, plus built-in vacuum allowing for the processing of more load types where effective air removal and drying are important.
LTE’s Touchclave-V range is ideal for placement within any laboratory thanks to its small footprint and in-chamber heating with manual water fill and wastewater tank connection. Designed with end users in mind all Touchclave-V models offer users an easy-to-use autoclave with accessible control systems and all at an economic price.

New Antimicrobial Bacteriological Barrier for Higher BSC Protection
The complete range of Telstar’s biological safety cabinets - Bio II Advance Plus and BiOptima - incorporates ZEROCOAT, a new antimicrobial bacteriological barrier, as a standard treatment applied in the work area. ZEROCOAT is a new photocatalytic treatment based on titanium dioxide which has been implemented by Telstar inside biological safety cabinets designed to operate with risk 1, 2 and 3 biological agents (viruses and bacteria or infectious material).
ZEROCOAT is the new treatment that provides a self-cleaning surface which breaks down organic matter when the light system is triggered. This activation, which can be either with white or ultraviolet light, makes organic matter oxidise naturally, safely and instantly at the molecular level. This provides it with particularly significant attributes in terms of bacterial protection, cleanliness and maintenance, durability and costs.
Existing antimicrobial coating systems for laboratory cabinets are composed of high levels of silver particles, which are applied exclusively to painted surfaces on the outside of the equipment. In contrast, the innovative ZEROCOAT treatment is incorporated on the inside of the cabin to fully protect the work surface and, among other variables, endows the stainless steel that surrounds the chamber`s interior with a high potential antimicrobial power.
The photocatalyst power of ZEROCOAT has been validated through an exhaustive battery of tests carried out in Telstar’s R&D department. The new treatment has been applied on different surfaces exposed to different types of light and wavelengths and the different organic compounds were subsequently checked for degradation. The results were then compared to tests carried out on untreated surfaces. In addition, the resistance of the new treatment to standard cleaning procedures in a cabinet and stability over a period of time has also been validated.

Ultra-sterile Lectern Range for Cleanroom Environments
Teknomek has further reinforced its commitment to developing products that are designed specifically for ultra-hygienic settings with the launch of its first ultra-sterile Hygienox lectern range.
Created especially for A & B Grade cleanroom environments where compliance with ISO 14644 is critical, Hygienox lecterns from Teknomek are manufactured from 316 grade stainless steel as standard: offering customers the ultimate in future proof, hygienic equipment. The new lectern is 600mm wide to comfortably hold documents up to A3 size and is available in both a mobile and static version.
As with all Hygienox cleanroom furniture, it is the attention to detail which makes the new lecterns valuable for industry sectors where adhering to ISO Class 5 standards is critical.
The easy clean design features open, hygienic corners; no overlapping joints, unnecessary lips or double returns, and the use of tubular braces to minimise horizontal surfaces where particles can rest and multiply.
There are no plastic parts. With no plastic parts, the lectern is made entirely from 316 grade stainless steel, which contains Molybdenum to improve the corrosion resistance of the stainless steel and provide added robustness and longevity. All joints are welded and then sealed with non-shedding silicone, with every weld pickled and polished to remove any burn marks. The feet of the lectern have no exposed threads to trap corrosive cleaning fluid, with anti-slip feet also designed to avoid marking the floor.
For the mobile Hygienox lecterns, castors have been specially commissioned to include a chemical resistant polypropylene wheel inside a 316-grade stainless steel body to ensure there is no opportunity for corrosion and contamination.
The lectern is the second item in the new Hygienox range, adding to the tables launched in the summer.
In addition, the 316L stainless steel used in the lecterns has an ultra-smooth finish. Chemicals can pool on coarser surfaces if not thoroughly removed with IPA wipes and, over time, the trace amounts of these chemicals will corrode, stain and contaminate the passive layer of the 304 stainless steel leaving tiger stripes.
