Eppendorf AG Appoints Eva van Pelt as New Management Board Member


Since 1st October 2017 Eva van Pelt has taken up Management Board responsibility for the area of Commercial Organisation and thus worldwide responsibility for sales, marketing, and service in the Eppendorf Group. This Management Board mandate was newly created at the end of 2016, and has been under the interim management of Thomas Bachmann, President & CEO, since that time. Van Pelt was appointed to the Management Board in June by the Supervisory Board.

“With Eva van Pelt, we were able to win a Board member with experience in international management. She has extensive expertise in sales, service, business development and product management,” said Philipp von Loeper, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Eppendorf AG. “Currently we are repositioning the Eppendorf Group to make it fi t for the future - sustainably, profi tably and over the long term. With the addition of Eva van Pelt, the Management Board level of the company is now complete and ready


to successfully implement the changes and developments we have already initiated,” added Bachmann.


Van Pelt noted: “The Eppendorf Group is a very healthy company and a well-known player in the life science industry. I am looking forward to supporting Eppendorf during such an exciting time and tapping new potential together with the leadership team and Eppendorf’s employees.”


Before joining Eppendorf, van Pelt served as Managing Director for the EMEA region of Leica Microsystems at the Danaher Corporation. Prior to that, she headed Healthcare and Life Sciences for the EME region at Hitachi Data Systems. Her previous positions also include directing the Health Services and Global Solutions unit at Siemens Medical Solutions in Den Haag, Netherlands.

The event was celebrated during a champagne reception attended by Gilson’s key customers, partners and members of the business community.

Gilson opened its new world-class, purpose built UK Centre of Excellence in Dunstable on 21 September 2017. At an exclusive Grand Opening Ceremony, Andrew Selous, MP for South West Bedfordshire and Peter Tudor, Gilson European Director, offi cially unveiled the new building.


Gilson’s continued growth within the UK and commitment to excellence has fueled their demand and need to relocate to a larger and more modern premises. Formally housed at Charles Street in Luton for over thirty years, this new state of the art facility has been home to Gilson’s UK team of liquid handling experts and customer support since April 2017. Their new UKAS Accredited Pipette Service Centre provides unrivalled support and maintenance for all makes of pipettes, not only Gilson’s prestigious PIPETMAN brand. The building also features new application development laboratories and a larger, more streamline distribution centre, enabling Gilson to provide enhanced technical and customer support.

Arquer Diagnostics has appointed Alpha Laboratories as its exclusive distributor in the UK and Republic of Ireland. Sunderland- based Arquer develops breakthrough diagnostic tests for the detection of bladder and prostate cancer. Its non-invasive cancer diagnostic tests are based on the MCM5 (minichromosome


maintenance protein)


platform. The first Arquer product is ADXBLADDER, a bladder cancer diagnostic test and a number of clinical trials are running to validate many other indications.
