Qualoupe LIMS Adds Specialist Software Applications to Support Commercial Contract Laboratories
Two Fold Software Limited, has added specialist application software to support the requirements of commercial contract laboratories. Two Fold Software’s easy-to-use Qualoupe LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) solution has been tailored to deliver significant benefits to contract laboratories.
The new software enhancement has been developed to enable fast and accurate production of invoices thereby allowing contract laboratories to optimise their cash flow and to efficiently control the recording and storage of results. This enables the contract laboratory to attain and maintain UKAS
accreditation, whilst also managing the quality of services being offered to customers.
The new Qualoupe LIMS solution gives contract laboratories a competitive edge by featuring flexible reporting capabilities which enable customer specific reports and formats that provide trending and graphical analysis of customer data. Customised data is a key factor in helping a contract laboratory to extend its services and build closer relationships with its clients.
The software enhancements also enable customers to submit samples remotely online which saves contract laboratory time and allows the customer the benefit of a faster service by also giving them remote access to sample results if required.

Bronkhorst High-Tech (The Netherlands) has been producing thermal mass flow meters and regulators for nearly 30 years now. These instruments are calibrated with state-of-the-art calibration equipment, certified via the Dutch Metrology Institute VSL (formerly NMi) in accordance with national and international standards.
On Wednesday 8 September 2010, the management of Bronkhorst
High-Tech received the ISO/IEC 17025:2005 certificate, the highest national standard for gas calibration, from Mr van der Poel, General Director of the Dutch Accreditation Council (RvA). This certification entitles Bronkhorst to perform accredited gas calibrations for a unique range from 0.0007 to 6200 ln/min. This applies to both Bronkhorst High-Tech mass flow meters/controllers and those of other brands. In addition to mass flow calibrations, Bronkhorst also offers volume flow calibrations from 0.0007 to 6650 l/min.
Accredited calibrations can be applied to new instruments that are ready for delivery as well as older equipment that has already been in operation. Bronkhorst also offers portable and stationary calibration systems with an optional RvA calibration certificate.

The major sources of pollution are from coal fired utilities and from natural gas production facilities. P S Analytical (PSA) has worked closely with legislators and systems providers to provide complete analytical solutions for such facilities. In the later facilities, the provision of accurate measurements of the mercury level are of considerable commercial significance as the presence of mercury can damage the plant and cause the plants to undergo expensive shutdowns. The financial burdens more than the health risks have not surprisingly been the most significant driver to provide analytical solutions.
Just when you think that your technology is able to handle every application thrown at it, then a newer, even more difficult challenge arises. To the hydrocarbon matrix why not add another component with its own challenges? Natural gas in some areas especially Kazakhstan can contain high levels of hydrogen sulphide up to 18%. This poses a considerable challenge to the analytical instrumentation. PSA’s Research and Development Team have risen to the challenge and have updated the Sir Galahad instrumentation to monitor the mercury levels reliably and to report the levels on a continuous basis with traceable data back to accepted International Standards.
Fully automated systems have been configured to meet the analytical challenge. These are constructed to operate reliably in the hostile environment and to meet accepted international measurement standards.
