Flow Level Pressure Diagnostic Technology Expanded on Series of Flow, Level and Pressure Instrumentation Emerson Process Management has expanded its Advanced HART® Diagnostics Suite on the Rosemount® 3051S Series of Instrumentation for pressure, flow and level

measurement. New features expand diagnostic coverage beyond transmitter electronics to identify and prevent abnormal process and installation issues. The new Power Advisory Diagnostic helps ensure the integrity of the electrical loop by detecting unwanted changing electrical conditions, such as water in the

terminal housing, ground loop issues, corrosion of terminals, or an unstable power supply. The Advanced HART Diagnostics Suite also includes Statistical Process Monitoring technology, to measure and analyse previously unseen process noise, providing intelligent process insight. This has led to a significant expansion in the range of process diagnostic applications such as detection of furnace flame instability, incipient distillation column flooding, and valve or pump cavitation.

“The expanded capabilities of Advanced Diagnostics on the Rosemount 3051S gives plant personnel additional insight into their facilities – insight they can use to make

informed decisions that will optimise the availability, efficiency and reliability of their plants,” said Dave Wehrs, Vice President of pressure design and engineering for the Rosemount division of Emerson Process Management.

The Rosemount 3051S with Advanced Diagnostics was put through the rigorous IEC 61508 safety certification process by exida, resulting in an industry- leading Safe Failure Fraction of 96.8%. Safety can be further improved by utilising Power Advisory Diagnostic and Statistical Process Monitoring to uncover previously undetectable failures of the electrical loop and in the process connection, including plugged impulse lines. Combining the highest safety-rated pressure transmitter in the industry with advanced diagnostics enables 10-year proof test intervals and the safest installation possible.

“The end result of having equipment with low failure rate and high diagnostic coverage is not just improved safety but also lower downtime,” said Dr. William Goble, principal partner of exida.

The Rosemount 3051S Series of Instrumentation is part of Emerson’s broad range of intelligent, digital field devices that power the PlantWeb™ architecture. Further cost savings, increased plant availability, and enhanced safety and environmental compliance are achieved when the transmitters are integrated into the PlantWeb digital plant architecture.

TMS, Inc. (USA) recently launched a new website (www.levelcom.net.) for its LevelCom line of Tank Level Indicators and Controllers. The LevelCom LC-100 Tank Level Indicator uses advanced bubbler technology. The LC-100 combines pulsed pneumatic depth sensing technology with features that include: SCADA interface; Modbus connectivity (Devicenet & Profibus Available); self diagnostic software and output relays for control or remote alarms. The LC-100 is field configurable, for weight, volume measurement and specific gravity. The LC-100 Tank Level Indicator is a rugged and dependable with a long service life.

Reader Reply Card No New Industrial Body Flowmeters Dwyer Instruments, Inc., (USA) has announced the release of its new Series P72 Flowmeters.

The Series P72 Flowmeters are heavy bodied meters for corrosives, gases, and high purity fluids. These meters are designed specifically for demanding applications. They are economically priced meters ideal for caustic solutions as well as liquid chlorine, sodium hypochlorite and chlorine gas. The Series P72 Flowmeters are suited for water treatment facilities that deal with these aggressive types of gases and fluids. The P72-A is comprised of P72 and polysulfone, while the P72-B has all P72 wetted components for maximum corrosion resistance. Units have a full-scale accuracy of ±2% and can be disassembled quickly without the meter being removed from the pipeline for easy cleaning. The Series P72 Flowmeters are available with standard 3/4˝, 1-1/2˝, 3˝, and 4˝ flange connections. Optional NPT connections are also available.
