17 Ovens, Furnaces & Heating Equipment Next Generation Hotplate and Stirrer Announced
Wiggens’ innovative technology has been used to produce the new generation round top hotplate-stirrer WH240 series. The hot plate uses unique infrared technology with a power of up to 600W and the ceramic glass has a high infrared transparency which results in a very high heating efficiency in a standard round top plate of 135mm diameter. Optimised PID parameters allows many different kinds of applications. A specially designed stainless steel protection ring, sealed outer shell of the top plate, and the robust ceramic glass can resist a thermal shock of 700ºc guaranteeing an enhanced longevity of the instrument. The control system has been updated to a higher level using a bright LCD display with adjustable backlight for user friendly monitoring and setup. Adjustable safety temperature setting using independent safety temperature circuit ensures a high safety level. A well-chosen design with reliable embedded temperature sensors inside the ceramic glass top plate makes the control more stable and accurate. A wide range of accessories suitable for the standard top size can provide uniform heating for multiple size vials in parallel reactions with a superior stirring effect as well. The products are now available for the international market with various voltage standards.

Horizontal Airfl ow Cabinet Oven
No. 1002 is an electrically-heated, 500ºF (~260ºC) cabinet oven from Grieve, currently used for various test procedures in the customer’s laboratory. Workspace dimensions measure 20” width x 20” depth x 20” height. 8KW are installed in Incoloy sheathed tubular elements to heat the unit, while a 400CFM, 1/3-HP recirculating blower provides horizontal airflow across the load.
This Grieve oven features 4” insulated walls throughout, Type 304, 2B stainless steel interior with continuously backwelded seam construction, stainless steel exterior with #4 brushed finish, heavy-duty door and door frame, three nickel-plated wire shelves and adjustable patented opposed louvers on full coverage supply and return ductwork. No. 1002 is equipped with all safety equipment for handling flammable solvents, including explosion-venting door hardware, powered forced exhauster airflow safety switch, purge timer and digital indicating temperature controller.

The PRESTO from Julabo represent the state-of-the-art for modern laboratories. These instruments cover a working temperature range of -92 to +250 °C with high cooling and heating capacity. Maximum heating capacity can also be adapted to fl uctuations in the mains power supply. Highly effi cient components give these instruments the ability to compensate for exothermic and endothermic reactions with extraordinary speed. The PRESTO units are extremely robust and work reliably even if the ambient temperature climbs as high as +40 °C. The integrated cooling machine and an internal, cooled expansion vessel absorb volume changes in the heat exchanger.

PRESTO systems offer the highest heating and cooling capacities together with powerful and maintenance-free pumps within a temperature range from -92 °C to +250 °C. The PRESTO range includes several systems suited for different applications. The water cooled PRESTO W50 and W50t cover the temperature range from -50 °C to +250 °C.

PRESTO starts with the A30, covering a temperature range from -30 °C to +250 °C. For the temperature range from -40 °C to +250 °C the A40 as air-cooled model or the W40 with water-cooling are available. The PRESTO A45 (-45 °C to +250 °C) can be ordered with an additional heating unit and is then able to offer a heating capacity of up to 12 kW. The water-cooled models W50 and W50t provide high cooling capacity of up to 7.5 kw (at +20 °C).
The dual-stage systems start with the A80 and W80 (-80 °C to +250 °C) which are also available with an additional heating unit to provide more heating power. The A85 and W85 systems are available as air-cooled or water-cooled systems with cooling capacity of up to 2.5 kW (at +20 °C). The W91 and W92 systems can be used with a powerful centrifugal pump or they can be optionally equipped with a gear pump which allows the usage of fl uids with higher viscosity.
All PRESTO systems come with variable pumps – this and many more features ensure maximum safety for your applications.
