Circle no. 379 New Air Jet Sieving Machine

The new air jet sieve AS 200 jet from Retsch is particularly suitable for low-density materials with particle sizes in the lower micron range. It is used with 203 mm (8’’) sieves of 10 microns mesh size or more. An industrial vacuum cleaner generates a jet of air, which disperses the particles on the sieve through a slotted nozzle. The material that passes the sieve is transported to the vacuum cleaner or to a cyclone for recovery. The procedure is very gentle on the material with the average sieving time only takes 2-3 minutes.

A special feature of the AS 200 jet is the Open Mesh Function that helps to greatly reduce the number of near-mesh particles. This provides optimum separation efficiency and also excellent reproducibility. Operation of the sieving machine is very simple. The Quick Start Mode allows the sieving process to start without previous programming. Benefits at a glance include: gentle sieving with short sieving times; reproducible results due to Open Mesh Function; 1-button operation with graphics display and Quick Start Mode; automatic vacuum regulation (option); amd suitable for 203 mm (8 ‘’) test sieves.

Circle no. 380 features include: adjustable blending power, according to the nature

of the sample; digital screen, easy control (speed, power, time); Click and Clean® paddles (remove the paddles to clean the chamber); three year guarantee and a life-time service guarantee; and15 years of experience, made in France. For efficient work and unequalled user-comfort, choose Interscience.

Electrolysed Water Technology Highly Effective for H1N1 Influenza Suppression

Sanyo Electric Co Ltd has already demonstrated through joint research with public institutions, the effectiveness of its electrolysed water technology, developed over many years, to suppress various viruses including seasonal influenza. Now the company has confirmed through joint research with the Gunma Prefectural Institute of Public Health and Environmental Sciences that this technology is also highly effective for suppressing the new H1N1 (swine flu) virus that has been spreading around the world since the spring. SANYO will continue to pursue more research and applications for electrolysed water technology, based on the verification data obtained through the recent joint research.

Sanyo makes its Virus Washer technology available in Europe with its domestic and commercial use air purification units. The units are portable and cover air circulation in spaces of up to 100m². The technology operates by creating electrolysed water, which is done by combining tap water with electricity without the requirement for any additional chemicals.
