Grid references on a simple, large scale map


Look at the map of part of a town below. This is the same map you saw on page 41, but this time we have drawn a grid over it. Funeka’s house is at A1. Thabo’s house is at G5. You will see that some places have more than one grid reference, for example the Post Office is at D2 and E2.
