hese have been uncertain and difficult times for many of us, but at least it seems
the end is in sight. The lockdown period for our ‘non-essential’ business was much the same experience as it was for others, with auctions and business be- ing ceased. However when the restrictions were removed first time around, enquiries and in- structions bounced back quickly and our first major sales in the summer and autumn proved to be most encouraging. Physical viewing, although slightly restricted for obvious reasons proved to be very brisk indeed. Both achieved sale totals in excess of £400,000 with a selling rate be- tween 80 and 90%. The resilience of the antiques market and the obvious pent up demand is most heartening and consequently for 2021 we have extended our Quarterly Fine Sales to three days rather than two. As before,
