15 Open Gardens
May is a perfect time to enjoy gardens in full bloom and many in South Devon are opening to the public. Catch nature at its best and maybe even sample a delicious, homemade cream tea while you are there. For most of our gardens, you will need to pre-book online although some have the flexibility for you to just turn up and pay at the gate. Check at

Spitchwick Manor, Newton Abbot 6 ½ acre garden with extensive beautiful views. 11am – 4.30pm
9 & 16 MAY
Heathercombe, Nr Bovey Tracey, Devon Tranquil secluded valley with streams, woods & 30 acres of spring/summer interest. Sculptures and 2 miles of sandy paths with benches. 1.30 – 5.30pm
15 MAY & 12 JUNE
The Walled Garden, Lindridge, Teignmouth 1 acre historical walled former kitchen garden halfway through 10 year renovation plan including geometric layout with lawns, mixed borders etc. 10am – 4pm
16 MAY
Middle Well Gardens, Stoke Gabriel, Totnes Tranquil 2 acre garden with a wealth of interesting plants and vistas. Child friendly. 11am – 5pm
18 & 19 MAY
Avenue Cottage, Totnes 11 Acres of mature and young trees and shrubs. Once part of an 18th Century landscape. 10am – 6pm
29, 30 & 31 MAY Brocton Cottage,
Newton Abbot 1.3 acres recovered from neglect with orchard, woodland and ponds.12noon – 4pm
5 & 6 JUNE
Abbotskerswell Gardens A group of 8 gardens as well as the village allotments opening up to the public. A wide variety of planting styles and innovative landscaping. 1 – 5pm
11, 12, 13 JUNE
Bramble Torre, Dittisham Set in 20 acres of farmland, the garden follows a rambling stream through a steep valley. Animals, vegetables and shrubs abound. 2 - 5pm
19 & 20 JUNE
Teignmouth Gardens Over 10 gardens opening in this popular coastal town including the Orangery – a beautifully restored glasshouse built in 1842. 1-5pm
