Great Shows, Great Horses, Great Friends

Check out our facebook page Eastern Ontario Quarter Horse Association for more information Thunder aka Thunder the Won-

der Horse is the epitome of the per- fect school horse. A 15hh flea bitten Arabian that is the sweetest and safest horse you have ever met. He has taught riders of all ages from 4 to 70, always taking great care of them. One of his favorite students is Ester a visually impaired rider who not only tacks him up, leads him out to the ring, rides him independently but jumps as well! He just seems to know and the two have a great bond. Thun- der has helped so many people fall in love with the sport and gain confi- dence with his smooth gaits and unflappable nature. He’s truly a hero to many. And I am grateful to be able to own and occasionally even get to ride such an amazing and special horse. He’s truly one in a million. Submission by Khristine Lahie: as with most

of you, this winter has gotten off to a rough start. But it’s through these hard times that I found a glimmer of happiness. Her name is Duchess, an incredible Quarter Horse and former broodmare. She has the sweetest personality and an insatiable curiosity. This season I started training her, and despite not having any previous experience, she’s just simply outstand- ing and she proves to me every day that nothing is too difficult for her as she just absorbs everything I teach her. Within only one month of training, I was sitting on her back. This is a HUGE deal considering she has never been formally trained before. This horse means a lot to me as she is the first Royale Ranch school horse, a symbol of renewal, hope and comfort. Thank you Duchess for being such an ex- ceptional horse, you make me believe the future is bright. And thank you to Royale Ranch. Looking for- ward to what the future will hold.
