SUPPORTING, DEVELOPING AND INSPIRING THE NEXT GENERATION OF BUSINESS LEADERS

Next Generation Chamber will provide a platform for aspiring young business people in the region to help them grow and develop via a series of exclusive monthly events, alternating between networking events and personal development sessions. Next Generation Chamber has been created by Northamptonshire Chamber and Milton Keynes Chamber to help businesses support and nurture staff who are dedicated to advancing their careers. The networking events offer members the opportunity to share knowledge and experiences with their peers in a relaxed and informal environment. The Personal Development sessions deliver inspirational and interactive sessions aimed at developing essential

business and leadership skills. Next Generation Chamber welcomes people from

all sectors seeking to share experiences, to learn from business leaders and to work with their peers to develop new skills, knowledge and best practice. It reflects the core belief that we often learn and

develop most effectively in the company of friends and peers with obvious benefits for employers in the creation of more confident, knowledgeable and better networked staff.

MORTGAGE COVER FOR ALL EVENTUALITIES

For the vast majority of us, our mortgage is our greatest liability, with the mortgage repayments typically being our largest monthly outgoing. While we all hope that the worst will never happen to us, statistically speaking, there are four events that are likely to happen during our working lives – sickness, unemployment, redundancy, or death. This “unknown” is one of the reasons why the team at Cave & Sons

believe it to be of utmost importance that appropriate mortgage cover is in place to ensure that your mortgage can be cleared in the event of death, or diagnoses of a serious/critical illness (e.g. cancer, stroke or brain injury). In either event, a lump sum payment would be made that could be used to help clear any outstanding mortgage liabilities, meaning that you and your family do not need to worry about having to keep up with the monthly repayments, or having to downsize - giving you all one less thing to worry about during what would be an extremely difficult time for all.

EXAMPLE COVER Importantly, mortgage cover does not have to be expensive. As an example, a 35-year-old couple with a £200,000 mortgage would each have to pay £34 per month to cover them over a 20-year period, with this inclusive of both life cover and earlier critical illness cover. This is less than some mobile phone contracts.

As a regulated and independent firm, Cave & Sons search the whole of the market to find the most suitable and cost-effective solutions that fit each budget and circumstance. They are able to obtain competitive rates that are not tied to any particular insurance provider(s). For a limited period of time the initial fee will be discounted by 25%, so

should you wish to speak to one of their experienced Financial Planners about how they can help, please get in touch with your usual Cave & Sons contact.

AGE UK NORTHAMPTONSHIRE REOPENS LIFELINE DAY CARE CENTRE IN KETTERING

Age UK Northamptonshire has reopened their day care in Kettering to help the county’s most vulnerable. Even though the charity lost

income during lockdown due to charity shop closures and the suspension of paid-for services, they adapted quickly to the needs of their client base. They have successfully supported older people during the pandemic by providing emergency grocery and medication deliveries, hot meals as well as extra help at the end of life. The charity is working closely

with Northamptonshire County Council and Kettering Borough Council to ensure that all Covid-19 regulations are strictly adhered to and all clients are kept safe. Measures that have been implemented include clients having their temperature taken each day, either before getting on an Age UK Northants minibus or if they have taken their own transport, on arrival at the centre. While in the centre, clients are kept two metres apart at all times. Clients have been put into bubbles of six so that the

same groups of people are together. Age UK Northants staff wear masks at all times and have put in place a strict cleaning regime. Mark Morgan, day care manager,

Age UK Northamptonshire, said: “All the clients that have come back to day care are over the moon. We see them each morning coming in with smiles on their faces. The social contact, physical activity and mental stimulation have made a massive difference. We still have space in the centre so we’re encouraging people to get in touch and book a place.” Day care is currently part-funded

by the social wellbeing contract through Northamptonshire County Council’s Public Health. The contract is due to end in March 2021 and the charity are keen to see a commitment for funding to secure the future of this vital service.
