Faircracker SUMMER 2020
Introducing . . . . .New Directors Shelly Terrell—Director
Northeast Florida Fair Born and raised on the family farm in Callahan, Florida where I still reside to-
day. I have been a kindergarten teacher with the Nassau County School District for 14 years. The fair industry has always been a part of my life in one way or another. Growing up, my father was involved with the Northeast Florida Fair and served as a director and on the livestock committee. As a youth I participated in our local fair as well as many fairs around Florida as an exhibitor and participated in other events through 4-H and FFA. In 2006, I was elected to the Board of Trus- tees for the Northeast Florida Fair and served as Secretary. Currently, I am chair of the livestock committee and oversee the vendors. I enjoy the promotion of ag- riculture and educational activities at the fair. I am excited to be a part of an out- standing organization like the Florida Federation of Fairs.
Eddie Porcelli—Associate Director Spaghetti Eddie’s
I am a second generation operator of Spaghetti Eddies, which is a full service Italian kitch-
en. Our route has taken us to many fairs in Canada and the United States. I am a graduate of Stetson University with a Business Management degree. I also had two periods of my life were I tried other jobs. The first was a management position with Walt Disney World. The other was a General Manager position of a multiple unit steakhouse restaurant. These two periods molded my business plan to truly focus on guest experience and high
standards of food quality. In our industry we wear many different hats to make the big wheel go around. Sometimes we lose focus on what should be most important for our success as a individual fair and industry. The true focus of each operator out there should be the fair as a whole experience for the guest. I hope to bring an honest open voice to the Federation. Through my many years of working in the State of Florida I have made life long friendships with many fair managers and directors. All of those friends know I have another passion…. Fishing. This gives me a place to put aside all the stresses that come from working. I really enjoy sharing my knowledge with all people in and out of our industry. We are in a very uncertain time in our industry. I believe its going to take everyone working
together with honest communication to make changes of how we have been doing business to be a strong industry for the future. I look forward to making new life long friend- ships and giving our industry a strong future.
