GOOD EATS
Paisano’s Italian Restaurant 1556 East Main Street Duncan, SC 864-433-0080 Hours: Mon-Sat 11 am-9 pm
Today was my first experience at Pi-
asano’s. I was meeting my buddy Greg Yeary for a quick lunch. He’s a working man and only gets an hour for lunch. I had mentioned going to another Italian/Greek restaurant in the area because we met there last year and it was good. Now, having lunched at Paisano’s, I can truly say there is no competition. Paisano’s wins the competition with the other Greek restaurant, hands down. I ordered the Paisano Salad ($9.95) on the recommenda- tion of the waiter. I was looking for a Greek salad with gyro meat, and that’s pretty much what this was. Lettuce, tomato, peppers, Kalamata olives, cucumbers, feta cheese, pep- peroncini and tender gyro meat with house dressing, a tasty Ital- ian/Greek blend. The salads are huge. I had to ask for a go box and bring over half of it home. They are generous with the feta, which I love, as well as the gyro. All of the ingredients are as fresh as humanly pos- sible. I also ordered a side of warm pita bread. ($1.50) Greg opted for the standard Greek salad ($7.70) and I heard him comment that it was re- ally great. You may also order the tuna salad, the Greek Grilled Chicken
Salad, Grilled Chicken Salad or Antipasata Salad.
If you are hankering for some serious
food, Paisano’s has plenty of choices of Hot Sub Sandwiches- BLT, Roast Beef, Turkey, Tuna, Ham, the Deluxe, Super Sub, Italian Sub or the Veggie Sub. How about a Pita Sandwich? The Gyro is always good, as is the Chicken Souvlaki. They also serve Philly Sandwiches, Burgers and Pizza galore. Or maybe you want some good ol’ Stromboli or a Calzone. You might opt for classic Italian Spaghetti, or Ravioli, Lasagna, Fettuccine Al- fredo or a Baked Ziti! One thing is for sure, there are plenty
of choices at Paisano’s, and if you go home hungry, it’s your own fault! Good stuff.
