“Revival” feat. the Black Bettys “Southern Child” feat. the Black Bettys Devon Allman took virtual touring to
a new level in March in the midst of the coro- navirus pandemic. He launched his “We Are Still All Together Tour,” a Facebook Live con- cert series from his St. Louis home. He de- cided to perform three shows a week and repost the videos the next day on Instagram and YouTube. Livestreaming concerts has be- come a popular alternative lately, with artists “pulling out their phones and going live. All- man wants to give livestreaming more struc- ture and make it a more appealing experience. He was able to make it all happen by enacting partnerships with Gibson Gui- tars, Earthworks Audio and Meyer Sound Lab to give the “We Are Still All Together Tour” what it needed to set it apart. His livestream- ing was professionally shot and mixed, not with a phone or computer set up on a kitchen table. Each of Allman's home performances will be themed, making each different from the last, including an all cover tunes night and an audience request night. Any funds raised from the tour's “virtual tip jar” were going to Allman’s out-of-work crew. He says Gibson Guitars is donating instruments for giveaways. •
