tled at demands for more and better material. Due to the disagreement with CBS the

album was never released and the band left CBS to break up after ANOTHER unreleased album was recorded with Chips Moman some years later. For me, an avid ARS fan, I was alerted to the album by a new friend who had an extensive collection. He sent me a copy of a cassette given to him by a member of the band. The first listen was a revelation - great new ARS tunes is fairly good quality. Not to CD or vinyl standards - but not bad! In the early days of the internet there

seemed to be a lot of "discussion groups" (in the days before Facebook). I raised this on an early one with other ARS fans - none of whom had it! One was friendly with Ronnie Hammond - he apparently asked for a copy. I had burnt it to CD and sent it over. Years later, I was able to exchange

some messages with Paul Goddard. He had the same cassette copy, and even pro- vided me a copy of the other unreleased album.

So - how can you get to hear it?Well, it

has never been "officially" released. ARS recently put out the excellent col-

lection "From the Vault" - which they in- cluded "Stone Cold Hit" and "Long Distance Love", amongst a huge amount of live record- ings.

The band opened up their last album to

date "With All Due Respect" with a version of "Sleep With One Eye Open". All that being said, there is a widely circulating CD which contains all the tracks - check your favorite auction sites. Whilst not to "cd" levels of sound - it is good enough for any ARS fan to enjoy these long lost tracks. Buy the official releases, then get this one to top it up. •
