DMT Diamond stone has been a market leader for over 30 years.
Degussit stones are used for fine grinding, polishing and deburring. Particular economical advantages are obtained when working with hardened steel, glass and porcelain and are loved by watchmakers, clockmakers and jewellers for their pin point sharpness and their long lasting hardness.
Cousins stock a variety of shapes and girts of Degussit stone which naturally comprises a very fine surface obtained by diamond grinding and is used for the finest precision work. Degussit fine grinding stones consist of a mixed crystal of exceptional hardness resulting in high wear resistance and excellent shape stability; the main element is aluminium oxide. The characteristic red colour of the tools is the result of an admixture of chromium oxide. This crystal is found in nature as ruby - hence the material is sometimes known as ‘sintered ruby’.
• Available in fine, medium and coarse grits: - Fine has a very fine surface obtained by diamond grinding and is used for the finest precision work - Medium has a better grip for clightly tougher jobs - Coarse is roughened by silicon carbide powder. Only whetstones and abrasive files are similar in comparison • Exceptionally hard (second only to diamond) and will cut and polish steel and many other tough metals. • Bond free and incredibly long lasting
