Welcome to the December issue In this issue...
Here we are at the end of another year!
It is December already and there is a lovely atmosphere on the high street. Local traders have some beautiful window displays. Please do try to shop local wherever you can and support our small businesses at this time of year.
The Broadstone Christmas Market and Parade is on Saturday 7th December on The Broadway. Market stalls will be open from 11am and the Parade starts at 1.30pm. This year marks the 50th anniversary of this very popular community event, which many local groups and organisations take part in. If you are new to the area, do come along to enjoy the Parade and get an early glimpse of Santa!
During the weekend of 7-8th December, St John’s Church hopes to be able to provide a winter wonderland of Christmas trees (pg12), each themed and provided by local businesses and community groups. Pop along and vote for your favourite!
Our content is a little light this month as we are unable to carry articles from local councillors and MPs during election time. Don’t forget to vote on Thursday 12th December and, whatever the outcome, your elected local representatives will be back in January with their news.
At the time of writing our gardening columnist, Denise Hill, is unwell and unable to contribute new content this month. All of our team wishes her a speedy recovery.
Merry Christmas to all of our readers and advertisers. I do hope you have a lovely festive season, whatever your plans.
Until next time, Karen
